I will always respect blink (pre-182, when they were good) and Duck Tape for pretty much creating the surf and skate scene in my area growing up. Yes, both blink-182 and Green Day are terrible now, but Green Day inspired a lot of the new up-and-coming bands (tons of bands that sound like early Black Flag credit their politics to Green Day).
