This music was recorded in 1929 but please don't tell that to these guys! The music is starting to sound an awful lot like the Swing Era. Only thing they needed was 2 more saxes for a full section, one more 'bone', and a modern drum kit with high hat and ride cymbols. I think, later that year, Vic Berton, another NYC studio percussionist, developed them. By 1930, there were a number of drummers in New York with modern kits, including Walter Johnson of the Fletcher Henderson Orchestra.
I enjoyed the music and the fabulous pictures.
