Worked great, here are a few things I found, disconnecting the fuel lines do NOT require needle nose pliers, push the line on to be sure they are all the way on, then squeeze the white clips with your fingers and pull the line off. The fellow who suggested seating the new contact to the old with a c-clamp and a 8mm socket worked great. My only problem was the gasket between the pump ass. and the gas tank, once removed it was to large to go back on?Used permatex to hold it and prayedThanks sseiyay
i bought the kit switched the gray piece and black piece but i noticed the gray peice has bigger fingers than the black piece has on it and now my gauge just reads empty what do i do?????
took less than 30 minutes on my 2000 Bonnie.. When putting the new arm on sender, use a C-Clamp with an 8 mm socket and press it in, instead of banging in with a hammer and screwdriver. Works much better!
this actually worked and you can see the difference in the two resitors i tried to just use the new resistor but it reads opposite of what the gauge actually is so you really only have to do like he says and switch the resistor plastic pieces amazing did not think this would work lol
Just pinch the white plastic ends with a pliers (I use my fingers) and pull the lines away. You have to tilt the pump as you pull it and turn it. For me at least it would make sense to just replace the pump if you have 100,000 + miles on it, They fail soon anyway. The new kit come with a new plug you splice it to replace the 4 pin one. It was know to cause bad connections. An aftermarket pump is about $200 at rockauto.com
I cannot for the life of me get the sender out of the tank. The bottom of it is way bigger than that hole in the tank. How the heck did you get it out so easily?!
@cbburtraw Looks to me like some angled needle nosed pliers. Can you not see that @ 1:44? There is a "special tool" available from local auto parts stores....KD Tools for example.
I am going to post this on the ACNA (Aurora Club of North America). Nice job man! I have already have done this a couple times but it could really help some other people out.
Thaks alot man, will be doing my 2002 lesabre when i get 40 dollars lol

Again, this video is inspiring. I want to do this project as soon as I get around to purchase a fuel level sender myself.
