  • Umm.. Catherine Parr was as scheming as a lot of people. If you look at the episode opener before this episode, she tells her sister she never wanted to marry the king, but since she already as, she might as well use her position for their "reasons".. which is reformation. As usual.

  • if only he defended anne the way he did catherine...

  • Finally Henry did something right thank God nothing bad happened to Kate....

  • @justinandbritneyJLA Yes, too little too late, but he did something good...

  • hahaha,jonnny , you rock my world !!!!!!!!

  • I don't know why but when JRM jump out his chair I started laughing

  • @sweetheart2109 me too :)

  • quite clever of henry..thatll shut her up.

  • How many Queens of England they have to kill? This is an outrage of society.

  • She tricks him, and he tricks her back.

    So much fun !

  • This, to me at least, seems to be a case of over-acting.

  • @malicant123 but JRM's "overacting" is what makes his character so enjoyable. do you think anyone would remember charlton heston's Moses from the Ten Commandments if he hadn't gone over-the-top?

  • @bookworm1138

I'm not so sure. To me, this doesn't seem like anger but rather, JRM trying to come across as angry.

  • 4 snaps in a Z formation and the neck swing!!

  • omg, he's so scary xD

  • This is how to deal with bailiffs in modern times also.

  • henry i think just wanted to scare the living shit out of kate he basically says listen im boss and if you dont like it you will be arrested and she understood that

  • Go Henry at least he did something right with one of his poor wifes

  • @armouredbutterflies. Well what happened was a little while before she found out that the King was going to arrest her for "stepping out of line/for her Protestant beliefs" and she submitted to him asking that she only meant to be taught by him, that she taught he liked for him and her to discuss religions, because she submitted he decided to not arrest her, but he didn't tell the guards and Risley because he still wanted to scare her.

  • I dont understand XD did he order those guards to scare her, or did he genuinely send them away?

  • @armouredbutterflies To scare her I believe..

  • loooool and take ur bastards with u!

  • i like that little grin he has @42.

lol as if he was like "damn that went perfectly"

  • I think the phrase he yelled was actually "Errant Knave", which is basically a misinformed idiot. :D

  • @glowstikk It was 'arrant knave, arrant beast and fool'.

  • @glowstikk

    " Arrant knave. "

  • i like how mad he gets...

  • this bit happens in a book I've just finished reading...its called elizabeth by kathryn lasky, and its a slightly imagined diary of the young lady elizabeth

  • @harrypotterinnarnia i read that :) Good book although Elizabeth hated Mary during her childhood. not sure if thats true or not?

  • @Hallelujah378 When Elizabeth was a child they didn't, it was only after there brother died that there was really true tension between them...but Mary still loved Elizabeth enough to not sign her death warrant.

  • oh wow he looks so old in this season now!

  • Oh I love this protective side to him. I want him to call that man a "arront naif" and tell him to take his "bastards" with him for me ! <3

  • @theturtlebuddha An 'arrant knave' that is...

  • @PeterKuypers No. Naif.

An arront naif is someone who is naive and ignorant.

  • @theturtlebuddha Not at all: the word arront doesn't exist. He says knave not naif. (It would also be a bit weird that Henry would call someone who comes to arrest his queen 'naive', that makes no sense at all.) He calls hem an 'arrant knave'.

  • @theturtlebuddha I do believe it is "knave" that His Majesty said.

  • Oh, it's all right, Katherine, he's just trying to impress you.

  • Why, earlier in the episode after he apology, did Henry refuse to cancel Katherine's arrest when he was only going to stop it? Was it to to scare her straight or was he going senile?

  • LOL "Get out and take your bastards w/ you."

  • Leave her alone Bastards!

    She's done NOTHING wrong!>:(

  • @genchandy personally I found she did do something wrong. Even though everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs (they are now, but not then) I think she was one of the many users who used Edward and Elizabeth to make their religion the most popular

  • Oh boy! Henry 8 still wanted to show off that he's badass! Scare the fuck out of the missus and then make her eternally grateful to him for sparing her life! Henry 8 still love playing mind games when he got old! Personally, if he was younger, he would've sent his wife to the tower for religious heresy and tried her in court. I think one of the reasons why he spared Kat Parr is because he got tired of all the "killing off the wives" business! LOL!

  • @mrrsprincesslily i thought henry wanted catherine in the tower? isn't that why she made her confess of the religion that she was practising, in the room with all of those men and that gardnier guy? or was that a different issue?

  • this is so mean for henry to do this to catherine. just to make her scared out of her wits for no reason! Henry was good at making people pyschologically ill. he delayed anne boleyn's death day after day and she almost had a nervous breakdown!

  • @Irishrose2966 He was protecting her from being arrested. It was a positive incident...she knows she would have been killed at "the tower," and this is why she was out of breath, she was scared out of her wits.

  • whats happening?! o.o

  • That poor guy.

  • Didn't the King issue for her arrest though? Or was it Bishop Gardiner?

  • @lilbaybeepink It's true that the King did issue the warrant for her arrest; but by the time it was to be enacted, Henry had gotten sick, and was on his deathbed, so it was inadvertently "cancelled."

  • Remind me again: why was Queen Catherine going to be taken into the tower?

  • @ladyanneboleyn1987 She was accused of "heresy." Which basically meant that she had questioned the various practices of the Church of England.

  • I would have made him fatter for the final season.

  • @ThorneAstor You're right as the real king was obeese by this time, and this actor still looks fairly slim.

  • @ThorneAstor Yes, that was one of their biggest flaws all throughout the series, but especially during the final season. All reports say that the real Henry 8 was morbidly obese by the time he died (weighing over 300 lbs.). And that he needed to be carried around by mechanical devices in his later years, since he was so big.

  • @ThorneAstor

    I agree with that.

  • Poor Catherine Parr. But I love the fact that Henry finally did something RIGHT with one of his wives.

  • @mmmmmvodka

He did care for her enough to allow her to remarry if she choose after his death and to set her up with enough to live on for the remainder of her life.

He cared most for Jane Seymour though, if was she he was buried beside.
