The Cop responds to the woman "No, He's saying you're tresspassing on city property". Well doesn't the cop have the duty to know the law and uphold it? Shouldn't the cop have told the guy who was protesting the Librarian that she was within her CONSTITUTIONAL rights to be there with a sign???????

The best bit is that if she takes away the sign, she's no longer trespassing. I mean, WTF is that?!

And even if her sign WERE offensive, what happened to freedom of speech? Her sign certainly wasn't endangering the public. There were no grounds for this course of action to be taken. At all.

I hope that this poor woman is repaid for her time and trouble threefold, and whoever gave the order to remove a woman for trespassing outside of a public meeting is reprimanded.

Its beyond me why people are not taking to the streets! Has the Bush administration scared you all that much? Are you afraid to be arrested for practicing a freedom THOUSANDS HAVE DIED FOR? a FREEDOM that is GRANTED in the Constitution of the United States of America!!!! A freedom NO MAN or administration has the right to block or restrict. A freedom WE ALL should be willing to die for, like so may be4 them!

I agree, this librarian should be entitled to carry a sign outside of the building. I believe that the 1st amendment hasn't been overturned yet by the 9th District Federal Court of Appeals.

As usual however, Jim Moore tries to stretch the truth, typical of so many writers associated with the Huffington Post.
