thanks for this video man i have been wanting to see gameplay over 3g do you think it would still do the same over 3g but without the ethernet cable because my phone does thethering but i cant try it because i dont have unlimited data but if it does well than i would cut my cable internet
it would be awesome if you showed a video playing a racing game like need for speed or Gran Turismo over 3G/4G... and even a fighting game like Mortal Kombat and/or tekken
@MrBrantastic I do have Gran Turismo and Mortal Kombat, so I could put some gameplay from those! Not sure when I'll be able to get to it, but I'll see what I can do ;)
I will say that Gran Turismo should play really well, but a fighting game like Mortal Kombat isn't going to work very well due to latency issues.
i just bought a wilson mobile pro and i only get 200 kbs extra out of 300 kbs= 500 kbs i cant download bf3 update will the wilson adjustable db solve my problem? and will i have enough speed not to have tanks bouncing around the map? THNX! oh and what could cause 500 kbs internet bounce down to 15 kbps during downloads only would open wifi help download patches?
@disturbed1gamerz It may, do you know what type of signal strength your getting with the Mobile Pro? The DB Pro uses a 2.5 Watt amp vs. 400mW on the Mobile Pro, so it's technically a little over 6 times more powerful. If you go closer to the cell tower do you get even better performance?
@3Gstore 1 to 2 bars. and i have not tested it out by driving by my tower but i get 4 bars of 3g, on my cell phone when i do and the cell tower is about 6 miles away but i live at the bottom of a hill with a forest at the top would i even have a chance to be able to play such high demanding games or should i tough it out till 4G. i just thought about this but would verizon working on nearby towers for 4g effect my signal because iam 10 miles away from extended 4g LTE? THANK YOU SO MUCH!
@disturbed1gamerz It shouldn't have an affect on you since it's outside the area, but Verizon has been having some issues with their network lately. If you already have a 4 bar signal with your phone then further amplifying the signal won't do much to further improve that. It sounds like your probably getting the most you can get until Verizon expands 4G into your area.
@3Gstore UPDATE i have 900kbps upload & 700 kbps download and 4 bars with the wilson but still cant download bf3 update as fast as my speed!?! Does open wifi help with that and my type of sercure wifi is wpa tkip. also i was on your website looking at OMINI 9.5 inch 3g/4g antenna but what kind of amplifier would i need and how much would it cost? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP and if it wasnt for your site i would never of known about boosters besides the VERIZON KIND -_-
@disturbed1gamerz It's probably a configuration issue between the device and console. You may want to try going directly hardwired via Ethernet for the best connection. Not sure if your on the PS3 or 360, but they don't like to download as fast via WiFi as a hardwired connection.
@Brawled1337 Only if it's placed in a location where you receive better signal translating in better download/upload performance. The Routers are about optimizing the connection, but if you have a signal issue you'll still have problems in a router.
Think of the 'router' as tires on a car and the 'modem' as the engine. If something is wrong with the engine 'modem' it doesn't matter if the tires 'router' are good, you'll still have problems.
@HalfBrotherGames Depends on your area and who offers the best service. Compare the coverage maps here - 3gstore[dot]com/coverage
You'll want to see who offers coverage and if it's 3G or 4G. If you find a carrier with 4G go that route, if not you'll want to go with one that offers 3G coverage. We can setup either Sprint or Verizon service and that would qualify you for additional discounts if you find they have the best coverage in your area!
@MorgansLTD Sure, the lower your latency the better the voice chat will be. I've played with some of our customers and we've used voice chat without issue in game.
@tanrdz0327 To my knowledge Netgear isn't in the 3G/4G modem space. Think of Cradlepoint as the 'Cisco' of mobile broadband routers. You could enable passthrough mode and use a Netgear router if you'd like.
@israeldx18 Yes, as long as you've got a decent signal it should work well. I believe there are some comments in here from customers using Virgin Mobile to game!
@TheAtxriders Typically a USB modem is going to be better because the latency will be lower on average than a MiFi. We do offer a variety of amplifiers that can boost reception, which typically boost download/upload speeds. You can email us at sales[a]3gstore[dot]com if you'd like more information about repeater options.
@TheWoodchopper13 I'm not sure what your referring to. The CTR35 will give a larger wireless signal than a MiFi type device, and may increase the cards reception if placed in an area with better signal. It won't have any direct impact on your cellular signal though, that's what our antennas and amplifiers are for.
@Rydog1779 The 3G connection that this game was played on had a signal of about -65dB, pings around 100-125ms & speeds around 1.5Mbps down & 700Kbps up.
It depends on the CLEAR modem that you're using. If you look at our 3G/4G routers page you'll see a compatibility list at the top of the page. Click on that, select the router your interested in and see what CLEAR modems are supported.
@bjb91productions2 The Virgin Mobile MiFi can't connect via USB, but you can use the WiFi as WAN feature to communicate via wireless. If you really wanted to use Virgin you'd be better of to buy their MC760 USB device. That way you don't have to worry about two firewalls.
@disturbed1gamerz so do you have verizon cause im signed up with sprint but thinking about verizon dont know which ones better i just want a good connection
The video shouldn't be lagging, might be your connection or to much going on with your PC. There are a few times in the actual video where my connection lagged a little bit though.
That's weird, it seems to play through to the end for me. It must just be your connection. Feel free to check out the other video I did over 4G to see if that works for you - Verizon LTE 4G Gaming on PS3 With a Cradlepoint Router
hey matt, i have the ctr35 hooked up to a att lightning 305. i connected my ps3 to it but i only get a NAT type 3. i also own a ctr350 but i get a NAT type 2 with it. i would like to get a type 2 with my new ctr35. any ideas on how to do that? thanks for this video
You need to go into the admin interface and under "firewall" enable "Static Nat Ports" and save the settings. That should get you back to a Nat Type 2.
wow cheers 4 da superfast response :) yeh ok cheers il av a look at that now. im currently using a mobile broadband dongle 2 hook my xbox up atm, and i dont really have any problems with it :) so im hoping to have the same results with wi fi
im thinking about buying a pay as you go mobile wi fi. do u reckon i could hook up 2 xbox console's up to the internet wireless, and do you no if i will have to have both the console's in the same room to get a good connection or will it be ok in diff rooms ? cheers
It would depend on the router that you decided to purchase. If you want to have multiple systems wireless in different rooms I'd recommend the MBR95 ( 3Gstore[dot]com/mbr95 as it's got an average range of 100-150' and has four Ethernet LAN ports if you want to hardwire both systems.
@3Gstore Hey man i was wondering if iam making a good desicion on buying a Sprint 3G Evdo card supplied by a company called BroadbandQwireless they charge a good amount of money for unlimited download data cap for 89.99 a month and insial cost is 249.00 What do you think this would be a good choice for gaming cuz in your video it seems like 3G cards are alright......and also i live in the roaming are for that card But They give you a Anteena for 149 to upgrade your signal please reply back.
@XxTheMomentxX95 I'd be wary of companies making unlimited claims as they typically have clauses in the contract with more specific details. I'm not familiar with their plans or devices, but if it uses the Sprint 3G network it should be fine assuming you've got a decent signal. What is the device that they offer you? It should have a model # on it, IE - 598U, USB760 etc.
@alcoholismold I have a wireless connection on my pc for 3 years now. I've played mw2 and black ops and cs1.6 with 300-400 ping and even tho' i die because of lag sometimes, Its still ok I have gotten alot of nukes and in black ops i have over 2 K/d
Direct tether on the EVO, no, but you could enable the mobile hotspot and connect via WiFi as WAN. In fact we have a lot of users using the EVO's for that because they get unlimited 3G and 4G!
@3Gstore Yeah, but Sprint charges an extra 30 bucks a month just to use that feature. All good, I now have a sensation 4g with T-mo hspa+ and wireless tethering is free on that phone. I'm saving 360.00 a year on just tethering service.. loved my Evo 4g and sprints unlimited plan but ay... I can tether my PS3 and everything else to my Sensation... Free now.
@SirDippalot Glad to hear you have a system up and running. Just remember with T-Mobile as soon as you reach 2GB they'll throttle your speeds and gaming will probably get pretty unreliable.
It depends on the model phone and router you're using. There are several supported as well as some that are unofficially supported. On our main page at 3Gstore select 3G/4G Routers and click on the compatible devices at the top. Most new phones have the mobile hotspot feature, which easily connects to newer models like the CTR35 via WiFi as WAN.
I play MW2 online on my PC with the Mifi2000 and i live about 5 miles from any towers, i bought an attachment anntena for it, and i get 2 - 3 bars in game like this. It's expensive at 80$ a month, but it works well. The lag will get you sometimes, but otherwise its great. (:
So if I got, say a macbook air 11 inch or an alienware m11x and used my iphone 4's personal hotspot feature to play games (such as black ops) over it's network, it would work fine if I had a decent connection?
Yes, you should be able to game without issue assuming you've got a decent signal and your tower isn't congested. Using it within a router directly like the Nexaira BC2 allows you to configure the ports and set things up to optimize the gaming experience.
i live in a far out area man. so 3g is my only option for gaming online. frome time to time i get a 1-2 bar connection or 3 if im lucky. they started to offer 4g and i have no clue if it would be worth the upgrade. it bums me out with the current 3g performace. so i dont know if i should upgrade. then again im not using a router im running through my pc wich im pretty sure is using up some bandwith while i play aswell.
What current hardware are you using? ICS is a workaround and using a router direct should offer better performance because you can optimize the ports and configuration. If you've got 4G at your area it will absolutely be better than 3G!
