rofl! I did this after I watched this video a while back. It knocked the horses speed up to around 107 and It's a permanent effect as far as I know. It wouldn't go away even after a few days of waiting for me. XD

Turning off the game and reloading won't make it go away either. But if you have the PC version you can hit ~ click the horse and type "setav Speed" and put in a number between 45 and 30 for a reasonable speed. The black horse runs at 33 in vanilla.

theres another way to do that

push the ~ button and type psb

then go to spells, scroll down to Zenithars Ear, and use the spell on your horse.

It's permanent, which gets to be a pain in the ass after a while when you fall down steep hills all the time and your horse takes fall damage.

haha my character is almost that fast. if you enchant a ring, via sigil stone or arcane university, dupe it to make only 2 of it. put one on. then try to dupe the one that is NOT equipped and you will have perminant stat boosts =]] i have 516 speed XD at that point i dont advise saving over your game though =\ and yes it works for 360. thats what i did it on. pre and post shivering isles patch. you just need to dupe with scrolls after you get the patch. =]] hope i helped and didnt sound to nerdy

Hey, those who have lost shadowmere, i have found where he goes away, i think, at least for my PC, he is in a forth north-east of Cheydinhall, the map marks a road leading there, once you are there u can see shadowmere near the door of fort!

It is a definite glitch. It works with a wayshrine of Julianos which has no fortify speed/Athletics effect + with me it was permanent.

You should. Much more effective when going to places you've never been before, like on quests. But fast traveling is still faster if you've been to the place before.

But it's best to use just for fun, especially flying past enemies on forest roads. Or try riding from city to city and see how long it takes you;)

It wears off after ten minutes, but you can make a custom spell yourself which will have the same effect. Just go to the arcane university, if you have access, and make a fortify speed on touch spell. It will last alot shorter though.

well thats not entirely true...it doesnt (at least not with me) wear off...i played an hour (Real Life time) and i still had the entchantment on my horse...then i shut the Console off...and the next day my horse stilll had the same speed level
