the difference is that star magic artists are bound to a contract saying that they will exclusively appear only in dos. pero sometimes, SM makes arrangements depending sa usapan. tulad sa TV5, lots of star magic artists, may palabas o nagkapalabas dun. but more obviously, they can't be borrowed by abs-cbn's rival network. when you're not under SM, you can freely do projects basta hindi nabe-breach ang current contract mo with abs-cbn.
