The problem is that Russia is still considering Georgia as a part of it. It can not accept Georgia as Independent. I'm not sure which side started the "war" but Russia's been making background of it for years. Georgian government was not wise enough not to respond to various provocations from north. Georgia is much smaller with less army and weapons and it was foolish to fight against russian bear. Only way to solve conflicts is direct Geo-Abkhaz-Ossetia dialogue and diplomacy without russia

1. Russia did not INVADE Georgia. Georgia attacked autonomous republic on its borders. That republic is supported by Russia, so Russia pushed back (perhaps very hard). Still, first punch was not Russian and whatever the response was, it was far from all out "invasion."
2. Both McCain and Obama were somewhat wrong on this issue; we've got enough problems here in the US & picking on Russia seems like a way to avoid dealing with our own problems/wars.

The problem is that Russia is still considering Georgia as a part of it. It can not accept Georgia as Independent. I'm not sure which side started the "war" but Russia's been making background of it for years. Georgian government was not wise enough not to respond to various provocations from north. Georgia is much smaller with less army and weapons and it was foolish to fight against russian bear. Only way to solve conflicts is direct Geo-Abkhaz-Ossetia dialogue and diplomacy without russia

1. Russia did not INVADE Georgia. Georgia attacked autonomous republic on its borders. That republic is supported by Russia, so Russia pushed back (perhaps very hard). Still, first punch was not Russian and whatever the response was, it was far from all out "invasion."
2. Both McCain and Obama were somewhat wrong on this issue; we've got enough problems here in the US & picking on Russia seems like a way to avoid dealing with our own problems/wars.

I think when people don't want to live together, they shouldn't. I think Kosovo deserves self-determination even though Russians oppose it. I think Nagorno-Karabakh deserves it. I think Tibet deserves is, so does Taiwan.

As far back as 1991, The US has made radical cuts in its nuclear defense funding and has continued to do so to present day. Russia has also done this, but not as rapidly. Long story short, Russia has an estimated 5000 nuclear devices. US has approximately 500. The US would be annihilated in a nuclear war, so think again cowboy.
