I Love the simplicity of your tank. Just a simple setup - but it looks so beautiful !

  • Amazing video, well done.

I'm looking at getting discus fish, but they can be very expensive and i worry what would happen if they ever got white spot and how to best tackel it.

These are beautifual fish, but if they get a disease then they are all at risk, how do you prevent this?

  • All perfect...floor, background, driftwood, fish, music you are surely not a beginner you have a long time experience in setting up tanks, am i right.

  • BEAUTIFUL SET UP!!! GORGEOUS FISH.....

  • Beautiful tank! I can't imagine how it could be improved...perfection!

  • this is so fucking nice, goodgod. PHENOMENAL, BREATHTAKING, AMAZINGLY SIMPLE TANK! Great choice of music! Just WOW!

  • wow thats really neat! did i see a Bolivian ram cichlid? those are one of my favorite fish ever! i really like the tank. just out of curiosity, how much was that driftwood?

  • This is just BEAUTIFUL man! This removes any doubt I had about setting up a large freshwater system over saltwater. My dream is a 220g tank with malawian cichlids. But I may have to set up a tank for discus too, as I love that they are compatible with those beautiful schools of tetras!

  • those are cool muthafuckers

  • This tank is spectacular! However, would you mind telling me what song is playing in the background? It's very pretty.

  • please help every neon tetra i buy dies ive bought 4 and they all died

  • I LOVE your tank

  • Wow your tank is beautiful, almost wish I was one of the fish. Nice work!

  • Beautiful tank, they all seem so happy. I've never seen such amazing specimens. I like your little ram too... so cute. At 3:03 what's up with the shy guy?

  • This is just gorgeous! So soothing. I have a 10 gallon freshwater tropical tank and a 29 gallon goldfish tank. They are no comparison to this one. I love my fish, and I love taking care of them. Great job!

  • absolutely gorgeous!!! and I must give kudos for the music! Well done! :D

  • fantastic discus aquarium! This is a credit to yourself and your devotion to keeping discus. I would love to keep them for my water is too hard. Would you recommend you sticking with fish that are suitable for your water conditions? I've also heard that you need to do a 50% water change every other day for discus?

  • Hi. Think the tank looks amazing. I'm setting one up myself and I had a question. How did you apply the background? Did you use the background fixing glue or is it just taped on and are one of the light bulbs blue or are they both White?

    Thanks.

  • inspirational tank.....thanks for posting!

  • esta genial tu acuario!! algun dia espero tener uno como el tuyo!!

  • Fantastic... How many litres is that please ? :)

  • what kind of filtration you got going on?

  • I noticed many were also interested in your background, like myself. I just bought it from Amazon.com for $2.99/ft. I hope it looks as good in person on my aquarium as it does on yours. Your Discus have amazingly bright colors. A very Happy tank, good job!

  • WOW :)

  • its really nice most amazing tank i ever seen but put more oxygen bubbles in it it would be more amazing

  • such a beautiful tank!

  • Amazing piece of wood and your discus look very healthy!

  • Your tank is phenomenal, not only does it look amazing but your fish are so healthy, active and happy. You've actually created such a perfect environment, your combination of fish is so great, you've put a lot of attention on making sure that your discus are not only the focal point but that the supporting cast fits in perfectly as well. I'm planning on setting up a discus tank of my own within the next year or so and will definitely look to your theme for inspiration.

    -Cheers

  • @Keerath Thank you :) means alot to me.

  • @F8LBITEva you should add some plants.

  • @F8LBITEva Yeah dude Keerath said it perfect this is a fucking amazing setup. Great job man.

  • @F8LBITEva It an amazing aquarium, how did you create the background ? is it paint or some paper it looks for natural. I would like to implement same in my aquarium, I'll appreciate if you can guide me.

    Great Work 10/10

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent tank. I agree with your points of substrates etc. I am constantly swapping from gravel base + plants to an empty tank. PLease check out my 7ft discus tank. Thanks a lot

  • the plants?????!!!!

  • Awsome tank bro! i see that you said you wanted to minimise clutter of plants etc.. just a sugestion you could atach small plants to that awsome bit of wood you have using string which would give a really cool effect and is still 1 item in all then... wicked tank and your discus are amazing :D

  • what do you feed?

  • Hey, how long did you take to sink that massive driftwood?

  • how do you keep youre tetras alive, mine keep dying

  • stunning tank! a job well done. love the huge driftwood too

  • I think that it's a beutiful tank too but I like plants too, and so do the fish, plants make great hidding places for the fish too.

  • Your tank is stunning!

  • I'm building a 2 meter tank, and I love your background. Any chance you could share with us where you got it from?

    Thanks and Congratulations!

  • @chechsp thank you. I got the backround from ebay.

  • @F8LBITEva Where exactly on ebay, if you don't mind? I really love this!

  • How much does a tank like this cost?

  • @snyderguy equiptment,fish,driftwood I would say roughly $2500

  • I love discus. You have a very nice simple set-up fish looks healthy. but i will just stick to my cichlids, discus fish is hard to take care off and im still an amateur fish keeper.

  • Hi You have a great Discus tank I was wondering where did you get your driftwood from?

    Thanks

  • Great tank!!! Needs a few plants for a perfect biotype

  • Beautiful aquarium and finally someone who accompanies it with good music. Thanks for posting!

  • How often do you do water changes? And how much do you change? I'm looking to move up in the fish world now that I have more experience. I know discus need a great water quality to do well but that's pretty much it.

  • Peaceful and simple but yet pleasing to the eyes.

  • wow beautyful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice piece of wood!!!!! its so exspensive here in canada, that piece would prolly cost me around 80 bucks or more...

  • Those are some beautiful fish ! Very nice tank. How are you liking the aquaclear filters ? I have 2 emperor 400's on my 100 gallon and I am thinking about switching , not sure.

  • Hello diskusfriend...

    are those diskus from stendker?

    LG Manuel

  • I really like the shape and coloration of your discus. Could you tell me if you have your tank in a basement or in your living room. Reason I am asking because I would like to put a 120 gal in my L.R. but not sure if it (the floor )will take the weight. Thanks ..mr ray

  • I like the Aqua blue almost green colored discus you have. I am looking to add another color to my collection, what kind of discus is he?

  • I think its beter looking without plants,

bdw the lightning and background are awsome (:

  • nice aquarium! what type of sand did you use?

  • wow very nice discus especially the turquoise one

  • Very nice! Great job!

  • what light bulbs do you use (color, K, watt, pieces...) :)

    nice video

  • Love your setting with the neon guppies and discus. What kind of background is that? It looks 3 dimensional.

  • I love the color contrast. Plants or no plants, this tank is gorgeous. I simply love discus but I'm still a novice in the aquarium world. Once I get more growth (yes i do have plants) I'll post a video.

  • don't listen to idiots(like matcs48a) who clearly envy your beautiful tanks too much.

You are an inspiration to me! I'm a beginner aquarist and certainly hoping that someday I'll be able to pull off a tank just like yours! :)

  • II see a german blue ram. Am I right? job well done on the tank and the video. This video should give my dad some ideas for his new tank. His tank is square in shape but real tall. Do you think diskus would be a good fish for that shape of tank?

  • beautiful tank and fish. :)

  • pretty ass fish

  • Very nice tank! Finally found it here! :-)

  • The background (wallpaper) is very cool,, great tank man =))

  • WHAT IS THIS? THE NICEST DISCUS TANK AT THE MOMENT! nice job. like seriously.... NICE JOB

  • Kept it just perfect:not overstocked, proper water conditions and the accurate decoration : your is the best

  • Awesome setup & awesome fish!

    I cant say no more!!

  • Hello,

Where is your filter?? I can not see any filtration system, did you hide it?

  • @abu7rb You can see the intake tubes on the left and right of the tank. I have since switch to 2 Aquaclear 110's.

  • Ok, so this is not a natural looking aquascape, but that's irrelevant. Your fish look very healthy and brave; they are not hiding behind the driftwood or anything, so they must be doing fine! That's what counts in the end, right? I kinda like the layout, though it looks artificial. The driftwood looks amazing! As far as the bubbles go: ok, you would not see them in amazon, but they still have a purpose (besides for the looks) by creating a ripple to the water surface and helping in gas exchange.

  • Buddy i like to see your new video of your beautiful discus fishes. believe me you have got the best set up as far as i am concerned. by the way, i got a huge piece of driftwood as well. i checked my water parameters and looks to be good. PH-7.4, GH and KH 45 ppm ammonia and nitrite is 0. i am going back to sri lanka next month and can't wait to start it buddy. how does the water parameters sound..? please post your latest video. you rock and keep rocking

  • Whats the background on this aquarium? it's stunning, with the blue background. where could i buy it?

    Thanks in advance

  • OMG, look at those colors !!

Wish you were a girl, so i could marry you and stare at your discusfish all f-ing day :D

    Héhéhé !!

  • WOW WOW THIS IS AN AMAZING TANK CONGRATS

  • take a look at "Mac's Discus Enjoy Life." The planted discus tank in that video has a sump tank below for filtration & aeration. PVC tubes are embedded in the substrate to cultivate anaerobic bacteria.

  • Beautiful discuses you have there! Excellent setup. Love that driftwood.

  • when did u started keeping discus in this tank ? where they always this beautiful or u cared for them and made them so good?

  • this is the best discus tank i have ever seen. this is my ideal tank, i want a tank just like yours.

  • hey man. beutiful tank. Although i like plants, i know the importance of showcasing fish, ease of maintanence, and focusing on their health. dont listen to the idiot matcs48a or whatever. He obviously cant tell your fish are happy by their color, which is one of the most obvious and beginner attributes to be looking for. He's an idiot. Congrats on your tank, the driftwood you got is amazing too. Where did you pick it up? My 55 is almost done cycling and i need a 2 pieces around 16-26"X12-20"

  • @supertasticasian Thank you sir. I got the DW from a local guy and Ive never seen a piece like that anywhere. Another good place to find DW is at a beach. I recently went to a beach in NC and happen to be in a gift shop and they had gigantic pieces of driftwood they had collected that had washed up on the beach. I got two big peices for $10 each!!! Good luck.

  • @F8LBITEva oh man, i got to check it out. 10 bucks per piece? thats a dream, i payed 40 for my 2 pieces. I mean their not tiny, but for 40 bucks i would hope i could get a little more. I heard though that getting driftwood from the beach is risky, since they've been absorbing saltwater for long periods of time, leading them to leach them back out into the tankwater. Kinda like neverending tannins but instead of yellow residue its salt XD

  • @F8LBITEva at what beach, i go to litchfeild its close to myrtle beach and what shop?

  • There is nothing wrong with this tank. i love the driftwood. nice work!

  • All I can say is wow great job keep up the good work

  • These fish are lucky you bought them!

    Nice aquarium man!

  • that is one awesome piece of drift wood beautiful discus 2

  • thanks for the information, just curious to know if well water will be fine for discus fish and some rocks. At the same time, how often do you clean sand substrate and how..? Do you take the sand out or cleaning them within. also.is it good to have a bare bottom or slight sand bed. sorry for posing too many questions but you can be teacher to this student. Thanks again......

  • WOW awesome set up, these are some of the prettiest fish ive seen. The simplicity of the tank really brings out the vibrant colors of the fish. great job. I saw your profile on MFK. I am also in NOVA. Fnt mind the haters,

  • Wow awesome set up, these are some of the prettiest fish Ive seen, very simple but wonderful affect. i saw this profile on MFK and see you live in nova, same as me. great job.

  • If plants don't do well at 85 how do my amazon swords, anubias, and java fern thrive and all of the plants from the real amazon do it? May be there is a giant air stone in the amazon, get real. Do you think your the only person to keep discus in a tank? Take a look at all of the other videos with discus. If you want something easy to clean try a Hello Kitty tank.

  • @matcs48a Im going to go ahead and use the 8,000+ hits this video has gotten as an indication of a job well done. Im no beginner, nor am I looking for an "easy" tank to keep, Discus constantly emit slime that coats the inside of the tank and needs to be scrubbed on a regular basis. Therefore I chose to keep it clutter free. I also wanted to showcase the colors of these fish so that is why the tank is "sterile" looking. Feel free to post videos of your tanks so I can see how its done.

  • @matcs48a its called taking good care of the fish. put an amzon sword in a 75 degree envirement and watch it become an invasive species. Put more oxygen in the water and watch the already hardy colorful fish become stronger and birghter. You obviously dont know shit. monkeys live in the wild. Put it in the zoo and it'll be safe from danger, and happier. i dont know if your stupid, but you should focus on the fish's happiness. not the fking plants. look at how expressed the fish's colors are.

  • Looks sterile, no live plants...looks like it was set up 5 minutes before the video was shot. I prefer a natural environment. Needs plants and get rid of the bubbles.

  • @matcs48a So im an amateur because I dont have plants in this tank? Since you are such an expert I dont need to tell you that plants dont do well at 85F and that the air stone is needed for more aeration because of lower oxygen levels at higher temps. You probably already know most discus keepers keep a tank free of substrate or clutter for ease of cleaning and syphoning. I would love to see videos of your tanks....oh thats right you dont have any. Class dismissed.

  • @F8LBITEva could you tell me how much is 85F in celcius?

    thanks.

  • @F8LBITEva hahaha true i guess :) my tank has 6 inchs of normal gravel and filled with amazon swords :) lots of nice fry also.

your tank is amazing also :) take it they are not wild discus?

  • very healthy and full growth looking discus. How old are the discus? did you have them as baby or as adult?

congrats on a super looking discus tank...btw...i like the music too.

  • @acitz7654 Thank you. Ive had these guys for over a year and bought them at 3.5 inches. Raised on bloodworms, beefheart and NLS pellets.

  • Awesome!

Awesome tank, awesome discus, awesome driftwood, awesome background, awesome music, awesome video :)

  • @chechsp Thank you!!!!!!!

  • Awesome tank man. What type of filter you have. Is that 2 HOB filters?

  • @AOmonsta When the vid was taken I had two Emperor 400's on there but I have since replaced them with two Aquaclear 500's. They are better filters IMO.

  • amazing tank...i really really loved it...one day ill have one like that... for now, im ok with my bettas... but may i ask whats this lovely song? thanks...

  • great looking tank man..awsome

  • background???

  • @rayhanyou Its just a stick on background I got off of ebay. At first I didnt think I would like it because my tanks all have solid black or blue backgrounds but I didnt want the Discus to darken up trying to blend in. Now im really glad I did it.

  • Thats a sweet lookin piece of driftwood. Are you gonna add any plants?

  • @lazarra101 Ive added plants since this video and like always they turn to mush. Plants don't do well in 85F plus I only have a 48" T5 fixture on it and it being a tall tank its just not enough light. I think ill add C02 and upgrade lighting when I get serious about plants.

  • Im getting ready to order one of these tanks, are you happy with it? Ive always had AGA's, but unfortunately they don't offer a 60 inch tank.

  • @Gravitysea its great, perfect size, zero complaints. Do it!

  • very very very very very very very very beautiful tank ..... i just love it

  • Love the shape of the driftwood :)

    Are those 3 Blue Diamonds?

  • Wow!! Very healthy, the coditions look perfect! Good job.

  • Beautiful!! We just our first pair of discus tonight.....bought two red carnation discus tonight $240 bucks for the pair (plus tax)......

  • Hey, your fish tank is beautifull. very nice combination of everything. can you tell me what kind of light you are using?

  • Thank you. It is a 48Inch T5 dual bulb fixture. Both 50/50 daylight / actinic bulbs.

  • @F8LBITEva

what kind of filter are you using?nice aquarium&discus.

  • What tanck is this one? Home made? And haw many liters

  • Perfecto brand. 450 Liters

  • One of the nicest discus tanks I've seen. I've come to expect this from you...

  • @88930P Thank you sir!!!

  • Wow...

Some of the healthiest and beautiful Discus I have seen.

  • nice fish, now all you need is some plants.
