all the legends belong to heaven like my mum freddie diana elvis jackson and the stars will always spell out their names but i spell out my mums name with my own stars from my own heart
i don't buy the applicaton of this song to Freddie Mercury unless Elton said so. He adapted it to Diana and he didn't write a version for Freddie. I am impressed with Freddie's talents and drive but in the end his seemingly out of control life killed him. no one could entertain like Freddie.
@siriusminx The words for this were rewritten by Elton John and sung at Diana's funeral. The tune is from the original Marilyn Munroe tribute, but this is definitely the Diana tribute version.
This is a totally innapropriate song for the memory of Freddie.....For a start, it was written specifically for Diana Spencer, who was a tragic loss to the whole of the UK and beyond. Secondly, as Freddie and the rest of the band were such prolific writers could you have not picked on of the songs written by them. And for the last, Freddie was not a candle in the wind, he was a flame thrower in the hurricane.......
@TheDiabloJones .. See what you are saying and I am very familiar with the original written for Marylin... This version was written for Princess Diana Spencer ....and has very different lyrics especially aimed at her... no mention of Norma Jean in this version.... still innapropriate for Freddie though....
This is a beautiful video about Freddie's life, but unfortunately the song is not. Freddie said many timea the band Queen was never appreciated by England's Press. Freddie & Queen were loved worldwide, and had better success outside of England. They weren't even gracious enough to erect a statue in Freddie's honour after his death. Instead it was placed in Montreaux, Switzerland. Freddie would have loved to be referred to as England's Rose, but he never felt that support and love at home!
@MsSweetunes ..........Freddie had more positive comments by the press than negative and they did not represent the British fans who loved him and Queen. There best success was in the UK.... There is a statue of Freddie which tours the UK,s many cities.... I watched them live many times and I dont base my opinion on having watched a few documentaries.....you are WRONG.. he was supported and loved in the UK....
freddie was a truely amazing performer and person. it is a tragedy he was lost so early...he is one person i would really enjoy meeting, but sadly never could. Rest in Peace, your legend lives on.
Thought the choice of song was perfect for Freddie, i love Queen, absolutely obsessed, i have to listen to them everyday. considering Freddie and Elton were good friends it makes your video even more perfect, I thought its was great x
Talley... great job,for those of us who really appreciated Queen the vid is awesome... I had the humble opportunity of seeing Queen live on several occasions... Freddie is one of the very best in show I have ever seen. Still ranks as the top performances in my book. Keep up the good work.. you have brought back very good memories..
This was an exceptional video Taley. I wouldn't worry about the potential negativity. Generally, people who make less than positive comments are either uneducated, ill-exposed, or viably insecure with their own personal disposition. Keep doing what you are doing and someone, somewhere, will recognize your potential! Thanks for the great video.
.....how touching.... I've heard this song many, many times before.....but only this time has it made me cry! I know it was rewritten for Princess Diana, but it truely fits for Freddie too!
@caldot18@caldot18 Mercury was born in the British protectorate of Zanzibar, East Africa. His parents, Bomi and Jer Bulsara, were Parsis from the Gujarat region of the then province of Bombay Presidency in British India. The family surname is derived from the town of Bulsar in southern Gujarat. The Bulsara family had moved to Zanzibar in order for his father to continue his job as a cashier at the British Colonial Office. He had one younger sister, Kashmira. ( He is not from Iran...)
@caldot18 he, his parents, and younger sisther moved to England when Freddie was 17 so England is his ADPOTED country. He and his family are part of the Britian s first Asians, those moveing to England because of the trouble / war in India . While Freddie was born in Africa he was bought up in India untill age 17/ Herriage is Iran and India, ........Asian either way
@charmotte23er324 It is a friend to a friend THAT is beyound sex and gender. This version was actualy for Princess Di who was also a personal friend of Elton John so on any level you want to take it this version is a friend to friend tribute.
Amazing clip! I love Freddie and Elton - They'r both amazing singers! And they were very close friends, love them! Kisses from me and keep making good clips! <3
i love freddie ... i´m 16 years old now and i´ve ever listened to queen. i think freddie is/was the greatest singer of the world... it´s a great mixture to take these freddie fotos and this great elton john song...

I would never have thought to apply this song to Freddie! I'm impressed that you did, it's perfect. I admire anyone who honors Freddie. You get twice the admiration for thinking outside the box. WELL DONE.
I really like your video. I would have never thought to apply this song to Freddie. I am impressed that you did. I'm a fan of anyone who honors Freddie. You get twice the admiration for thinking outside of the box. VERY well done.
I love how this song works for both Freddie Mercury, and Princess Diana. both amazing souls, and lived their lives like candles in the wind. Elton John couldnt have thought of better words to put in this song. :)
I just went to a concert at the Chattanooga Symphony and they played and sang Who Wants To Live Forever, written after Freddie died, and it really hit me emotionally, God bless you Freddie and may you rest in peace of the kingdom of heaven forever.
@TrumpetHero11 Not trying to be patroning or anything but who wants to live forever was written when he was alive, it was included in the A kind of magic album, look up the video.
Well this video is appropriate, since Elton and Freddie were very good friends, in fact Elton was asked to sing "The show must go on" with Queen not on one, but on two occasions, to commemorate Freddie's death and to speak up to fight AIDS and find a cure.
This song was written about Marylin Monroe, if I'm correct, but I wonder if the great Elton would ever consider writing a song about the great Queen Freddie....
a great way to remember the fantastic Freddie Mercury. I thank you tayleydaley2012, brought back lots of memories and tears. There will never be another Freddie Mercury, and never anyone who could perform like him on stage, he was (and is) the greatest stage performer the world has ever seen

That's true, Freddie Mercury, the world's golden rose! By the way, do you know that there is a rose in memory of Freddie? It's the Mercury rose... A yellow - golden one with a pink hue (in tone it's very similar to another one he drew when he was in the Ealing Art School) Just do a Google search and type 'Freddie Mercury rose'and you'll see it.
So sad indeed! Hope that our children will remember this amazing man for his generosity on stage and in his personal life, his great sense of humour, his above everyone's talent as a performer. Rest in peace.
the original said good bye norma jean marilyns real name.i love her too just as i love Freddie. Perfect song 4 all of them. Thanx 4 this video it's beautiful
This song was written by bernie taupin 4 elton. It was 1st made 4 marilyn monroe the orig song. then he sang it 4 ryan white the boy who died from aids that michael jackson befriended n gave the car too then he changed the lyrics to englands rose 4 princess dianna love u Freddie
I have tried to google and find what she is doing now, but the last account was she was playing at a club in Texas. I would like to hear what she has to say about Freddie.
Just one minor correction: The original Marilyn Monroe version was also titled "Candle in the Wind." "Good-bye Norma Jean" is the first line of the song.
Thank you so much for posting this video!! He was English Royalty. Too bad it took his death and memorial concert for the world to recognize a true musical gift and beautiful person.
Bravo!:)

I have tried to google and find what she is doing now, but the last account was she was playing at a club in Texas. I would like to hear what she has to say about Freddie.

Very nice!
