  • When you went into Hot Cross Buns I was like whoaaaaa becuause for me you were using alot of fingers!

  • this is a very good teacher i can tell u coz i have been studin piano for a moment and my first teach wasn't that way i gave me hard composions to play it worked for me but still for a biginner this is the best way to start

  • just when he starts, count off 1 2 3 when he starts u should be playing with each time he plays a chord. hot crossed buns for example had a lot of half notes(2 second or beats) and he played it like that, just with chords to make u and him sound great together

  • I think this lesson is very clear, but the one thing that bugged me is that he played hot cross buns wrong at the begining, by playing; 3-2-1, 3-2-1, 1-1-1-1, 2-2-2-2 ,3-3-3-3, 3-2-1 ,but there is no; 3-3-3-3 in the song, just a tip for next time, learn how to play the easist song in the world be for e you teach it on the internet

  • Corganpaul, thanks for pointing that out - I never noticed I did that - I guess I wasn't thinking. I think when I made the video the repeated part was intended on getting you to really get used to playing with those 3 fingers. If you look at the written music version - it doesn't have the 3-3-3-3...oops! :) I really do know how to play Hot Cross Buns...

  • I dont' get it, if 1=C 2=D 3=E 4=F 5=G, thjen why do you use your thumb to play other notes that aren't C???

  • For right hand C position, you use the right hand thumb to play C - but in the left hand C position - the thumb ends up on G - try it on a keyboard :)

  • you have tooo move around the keybored. you wont be in the same postion forever. theres d postion,g postion and manymore i havent learened yet. but there is scales,like A minor. you can email me if you have questions.

  • Your lessons are sooooo helpful! I really enjoy it. It help me learn piano AND english, what a amazing deal. I laughed a lot when I saw that you maked a mistake in french, wich is my language. It's *Vive la France*, viva is in spanish. Well, that's totally off the point. I just want to say that it's really helpful and I love the slow and clear way you teach.

  • I got bored quite quickly when learning how to sight read so instead I just memorize the pieces I learn. I can now learn beginner pieces very quickly so i moved on to intermediate pieces and I can play them by memorizing them. It takes weeks though for me to memorize these more difficult pieces but the end result is being able to play them really well. Is this a bad way of learning? Should I spend more time in practicing sight reading or is it ok if I continue in just memorizing pieces?

  • Sounds like you have a great and amazing ear SmokerBoy131 - however if you really want to fly - force yourself to catch up your reading up to your ear. I'm sure you will be able to play a lot by ear, but being good at both reading and listening - will make you have amazing potential!

  • I can still read. Just not quickly. It's so slow it's just easier for me to memorize a piece bar after bar.

  • In other words. I read the music slowly and memorize each bar through reading. I move onto bar to bar doing this. The only reading I do is memorizing a new bar. I can read just not quickly. Kinda like learning a new language. You can understand what someopne is saying in a language, but you have to sit their for a moment and translate it in your head when new to a lsmguage.
