@5841623 i believe that is the best idea. People can save money if they buy a house together or rent a large house or floor in an apartment building and share in the child raising duties. The older parents help watch the little ones (provided they aren't too old) while the younger people make the money, the housekeeping and food prep and grocery shopping duties are shared. If every "family" unit has their own space (like husband and wife have a room) then you can retire separately.

I am female and from a very poor bg in Ohio. Over the decades I fought never to get pregnant. I saw this would be the end of me. I've never known security and have lost jobs many times due to illness, which shouldn't happen, but it does. Most of us are one paycheck away from losing our homes, paying for food, having the lights turned off. You can't group all homeless people into a category and say they're all lazy, druggies, etc...

All people aren't homeless because because they aren't smart, or are drunks or druggies. Bad things happen to good people and they end up in the wrong place. We have to do our part to help them, but not by giving them 10 bucks, but getting them in touch with an organization and helping them get on they're feet. Do your part. Do whatever you can to help people.

Bad things happen to them: they're support system disapearing, parents dying, being kicked out, being forced into drug use and prostitution. Its not a choice most of the time. Sometimes they are addicted and just need help. Never pass up someone because you think 'oh, they're just going to use me. they chose to live like that.' No one chooses to live like that. You can put them in touch with an agency to help them .

@righttoright1 I don't know anyone who was ever given a home. Homes are too expensive anyway. True it works for the middle class and beyond, but the lower class need options too! They need to make homes accessible to ALL people, not just the financially well off. Simple "Starter" homes with the bare necessities that ranged from 10,000 - 50,000 would be good. The American Dream is only for the ones who could afford to dream.

I don't understand how & why anyone w/limited means could afford to purchase even a small home like that lady did? My family & I (I'm disabled w/a elderly mother 83) was evicted from our home because it sold out. We had no renters rights because it was new owners & was treated like dirt to get us out. Thanks to my daughter at 17 who did most of the work & movers otherwise I never would have made it to move. There should be changes in the laws.

this is so very sad and I am definitely going to get involved in helping these people. one thing that really bugs me though, is how these people have so many children. just one child equals SO much money that needs to be spent on them, let alone 3 or 4 like this woman has and many have. that is just not ok and it's completely impossible to support that many children. people need to somehow stop having so many children, or any at all.

Food wholesalers and supermarkets may have even less to spare as they try to minimize waste even more. Just giving out food and shelter is not enough! It's problem with capitalism itself. Every resource only stays in the financial sector. While there's grains to be dumped into sea and houses left empty this shit happens.
