that plane changes direction so damn fast it must pull some serious g's.
its sad to hear that he died but it wasnt for nothing like some ppl are saying. he lived so hard cause he wasnt afraid to live. and i bet he was glad to fly and put on a show as a career
o yea that plane pulls gs, i believe sean tucker flyies the same model, that aircraft is costom made to do some serious stuff, it can hold vertical without stalling or lusing altitude, and there arent verry many many piston powerd airplanes that can do that, not even some stunt planes, these pilots can hold 10+ gs without blacking out, so yea thay do some serious crap XD
I used to own a jet truck called "WipOut". Had a J-57 jet, military afterburner, still technically classified. Anyway, I had the honor of racing Mr. Leroy at one of my earlier air shows. Shocked to hear of his crash and departure! Such a cool and talented guy. They all are! Well, with the "Boots On" as they say! Very sad news!
You obviously don't get out much... Have you ever noticed that there were spectators??? It's fast, Cool, Shocking, Intense, and people PAY to see it... What the hell else reason do you need??? Diesels don't quite get the same "pop" as three f16 engines.
yes toejamjaz, those pilots do not were g suits they are to bulky for stunt pilots, they just get in the way, even the blue angels do not were g suits.
The pilot is Jim Leroy, and he is a professional airshow pilot. Airshow pilots like this do not wear G suits but instead have practiced flying like this thousands of times so that they build up a high "G" tolerance. They also tighten all the muscles in their legs and their stomach which helps keep their blood from pooling in their feet.

Stunt plane? Why do you call it this? It's an aerobatic plane.

I saw this at sussex airport in New Jersey and it was an accident about to happen and then we lost two great pilots. A needless waste of life.

When this thing came to the willow grove airbase, it lit the grass next to the runway on fire and melted taxi lights
