yes indeed that desu is always at the end of the sentence but there an exception for example if you are asking a question you put a ''ka'' at the end of the sentence.

A simple and useful lesson.Arigato gozaimasu.The other basic expressions are:
Genki desu ka? or Ogenki desu ka? -How are you?
Genki desu-I am fine.
Sayounara-Good-bye.
Mata ne-See you later.
Arigato Gozaimasu-Thank You(Formal/Polite).
Hai(Pronounced like High)-Yes.
iie-No.
Sumimasen-Excuse me.
