  • I think someone needs to switch the Dansette from 78 to 33rpm...

  • Who is playing the organ in the background???

  • @mrHatmore Tony Martin

  • It s a little too slow.

The original is much faster as is the version on the tribute album. This just lags too much. Especially for a live version.

  • Awesome

  • tony martin

  • This is great! Sabbath used to play The Shadows in their early shows back in '69!

  • also ritchie blackmore has played this during 1996

  • Awesome!

    I have order the dvd!

  • Freakin' cool. I was surprised to find this, a cool cover of a classic song. I love Sab and The Shadows.

  • I just bought dvd which was recorded in November 19th 1989 in Moscow, it is awesome!

  • I see that 11/19 date on a lot of bootlegs for this show, but Neil Murray was quite sure that the the Moscow shows recorded for DVD were on 11/25. Black Sabbath Live mentions this as well. I sort of wish it would get straightened out once and for all.

The DVD is quite good though, I've seen it.

  • well, they played like 10 shows or more in Moscow, maybe Murray remembers right or not, although I have heard that there is also bootlegs which are even earlier than 19th day, but who knows the truth, haha.

  • @blacksabfan IT is aweosme the versions of Paranoid, When Death Calls and Headless cross are just awesome, Iommi Martin and geezer should do a headless cross reunion tour playing just martins songs.

  • @sakke72 That recording is definitely not from 1989. Dio wasn´t in the band at that time. It´s either from the early 1980s or from the early 1990s. End of story.

  • Awesome. I've been wanting to hear this for years!

  • I read about Tony puliing this out in the Doom Let Loose book. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • My dad read that The Shadows is Tony's favourite band :) And he also listens to Frank Sinatra :)

  • Black Sabbath also toyed with a snippet of Apache during the Dehumanizer sessions.

For those of you who don't know, Tony Iommi also appears on the TWANG album (tribute to Hank Marvin/Shadows) where he does a nice version of Wonderful Land.

  • Yeah is Fucki`n Crazy!!!

  • pretty cool I would love to hear more metal guitarists cover surf tunes I think it would make a killer c.d. as long as they keep fairly true to the original and not go completly jack ass wild

  • Iommi was very influenced by Hank Marvin. This is great.

  • Amazing! Very out of Sabbath's character to play a song with this sort of sound. It's great though! Thank you very much for this man! You've always got great stuff.

  • bizarre, you can't make this shit up!
