Been a fan since 1996... and that concert in December was my first sc concert. I don't give a shit if they didn't sell it out. It was awesome and that's all that matters to me!

totally agree man, its my favourite CD, even tho pissed off teenagers prefer Frogstomp or Freakshow... honestly, this is a CD you apreciate a lot if youre a good musician, the vocals are great (even tho in this live version he has problems in the chorus...) and so is the instrumentals with the orchestra... I liked young modern too.. but it was too...hum, alternative, electronic and basic... diorama and neon ballroom are the more complete i think! thumbs up for you comment man!
I love Silverchair from Frogstomp to Young Modern but for me this is my favourite era, the way all their songs were put together on Diorama is remarkable :)

yeah thats true like everyone all beats him up over that "Bad" Straight Lines Performance but I actually liked that version better than the cd one. It just had alot of passion, emotion and courage in it as he struggled to get through but he still fucking did it. Most vocalists would of heard how bad they sounded while singing the first chorus where his voice really went out on him and just smashed some shit and left the stage but not Daniel.
His enthusiasm totally made up for his laryngitis. Dan is a true performer. It brings to mind "singers" like ashlee simpson, for example, who won't (or can't..) sing live because of 'acid reflux' yet, Daniel will give it his all even tho I'm pretty sure during the Leno performance his throat had to be hurting like hell. So ppl need to give the guy some much deserved credit.
he sure does need people to lay off him not just on that but also for judging and resenting him so much just cause he doesnt want to make the same music he made 10+ years ago.
God, I wish they had been able to tour Diorama in the US...we sooo missed out here on this one. What a kick-ass performance...Daniel Johns is amazing!

It is a hick town, and most of the people here are idiots. I've lived here my whole life, I know what I'm talking about.
That's not to say there aren't intelligent people here, it's just they're few and far between.
The show wasn't bad, but the energy given off from the crowd sort of ruined it. Needless to say they probably won't ever be back.

I miss this great voice! i guess dan wont have a hard time hitting those high notes in straight lines with this voice. too bad he lost it, but still a great singer!

Would you, or anyone really, know where I could find a region 1 copy of this DVD? I've searched and searched and they've all come up unsuccessful. Youtube clips of these incredible performances are not cutting it for me anymore. Much endless thanks to anyone who may be able to help. :)

go to the official chairpage site I believe they have copies of it in whatever region you need the DVD in but I haven't been on there in awhile so I'm not for certain, so you'd have to look. and also did what DVD name do you search it under

one question hopefully someone can answer me... I know they only make the DVD for this in Australia only but If I order it off Ebay will it play on a NORTH AMERICAN DVD PLayer? Cuz I need this shit for the collection lol Everytime I watch my Best of Silverchair DVD I just think about how much I want this DVD even though the best of Silverchair DVD is still amazing

You could try asking the people who are selling it on ebay. I live in Australia but I don't know what differences the DVD players have in different countries.

thanks I did ask and it was all bad news for me.... It will only play on my Computer if I buy it which sucks ass. I need a regional free DVD player which I cant even get one here... I have a PS3 and asked if it would play on that and the ebay ppl were like if you have an UK version of the PS3 and I dont I have a Canadian version so I'm SOL which sucks ass... The Best OF Silverchair DVD doesnt give me my full silverchair fix that I need (LOL) but Faraway stables does!

this is the BEST performance of this song that Ive heard... all you Silverchair fans are WAY TOO HARD on Daniel... You people really should just STFU and listen to their music for what it is and enjoy/respect how beautiful his voice is and not sit there and rip him up cuz one line he sings here and there is not in the right key, tone or is flat ETC... Big Fucking Deal if it doesnt sound EXACTLY the same as on cd! IF thats what everyone wanted what would be the point in him playing live?

thank you Im just so fucking sick and tired of seeing how CRITICAL all SC fans are towards Daniels Voice. Its god damn rediculous. No other vocalist of all the bands I like get judged and criticized on youtube like Johns does and hes a better vocalist then most of them.

Everyone needs to realize that VOCALS arent like Guitar. IF you write/learn a riff 99% chance says that you will be able to play it live exactly how it is on cd unless you are too drunk/high to play it correct or keep cant keep timing worth shit. Where with Vocals every singer is gonna have thier good days and bad days, especially if they are singing wide vocal ranges and styles like Daniel Johns does.

exactly. maybe ppl are so critical of daniel bcuz they come to expect such great things from him. he's capable of incredible perfection in his singing but when he falls short, even just a little, people jump all over him. i think he is amazing any which way. ppl are just jealous.

yeah thats true like everyone all beats him up over that "Bad" Straight Lines Performance but I actually liked that version better than the cd one. It just had alot of passion, emotion and courage in it as he struggled to get through but he still fucking did it. Most vocalists would of heard how bad they sounded while singing the first chorus where his voice really went out on him and just smashed some shit and left the stage but not Daniel.

His enthusiasm totally made up for his laryngitis. Dan is a true performer. It brings to mind "singers" like ashlee simpson, for example, who won't (or can't..) sing live because of 'acid reflux' yet, Daniel will give it his all even tho I'm pretty sure during the Leno performance his throat had to be hurting like hell. So ppl need to give the guy some much deserved credit.
