Logging is a very good way of maintaining our forest. I'll tell you what, those old trees cause the death of those natural growing plants, and logging companies are required to replant native trees that were cut down. So if you bastards want to see the forests burn to hell and back then go ahead then we'll see where were at. Our eath will look so f***ing dead it be so embarrassing we might as well be dead too. Logging is not bad as long as we don't over log our forest.
i think it is very good busines ,, but for forest protection we have to look after over forest as well ,, like if you cut a tree instead of t hat tree we should put 5 trees , so we will lost over forest,,
If you want to see big trees go to Tasmania in the mean time let the loggers do what they do best while they are working we dont have to support them unlike the 99% of greenies who are on the dole
Then there is all that re-groth forest aria were they logged 80- 100 years ago that they are not allowed to log again because of greenies . Mt Little dick aria has grown back and around Nowa Nowa but now they are selling off the land as you can tell from the block numbers. So if you greenie want to save the bush start buying it up and build your homes out of bricks and steel not wood or you will have to live in a tent instead.
well dunny paper can be made from plantation forests but to make room for the plantation forest they have to use farm land or clear forest to grow them.
logging the old growth trees is the best way to maintain sustainable forests.
i am 3rd generation saw miller/logger we have been logging teh same blocks of land for the last 100 years, i am just starting to recut some blocks my father cut in teh 50s. there are some big logs there again now.
i suppose we could just leave the big trees to dye, fall over, catch fire and burn down 50 others, and then fell some smaller non mature trees that will produce low quality timber.
Theres a few good spars in that lot.....time to make way for a new vibrant forest full of life and not full of decaying habitat. Habitat means multiple aged forest, not a senescent pile of rot for the beetles, but a range of habitats for all inhabitants. Australian forest communities rely on disturbance to promote a range of habitats and encourage new growth and diversity of life.
I guess this is an older video, but the concept is the same no matter how long you keep flogging conservatism
@forkdriver500 The tree feller on Brown Mountain was a New Zealand citizen, his employment cost an Australian job. Most of the trees felled on Brown Mnt went to the woodchip mill owned by the Japanese Nippon Paper Co at Eden NSW, and exported to Japan. A few of the trees ended up as sawlogs to be cut up for packing pallets. VicForests the Government logging agency that logged Brown Mnt, recently failed to attain Forest Stewardship Council Certification in Vic because of its logging practices.
Im not trying to pay attention to the hippy protect the forest crap in this video, im watching the trees get cut down and knowing they are going to a mill and keeping people in there jobs. Sure there is old growth being cut, I like looking at them in the forest I think they are cool, but if they are cut oh well, trees will grow back in the future, were all gonna die any how make the most money and be your best until you die, dont worry about the trees there are plenty left.
loggers for ever!!!! you tree hugers are a pack of wanker if it wasnt for logging you wouldnt have homes or dunny paper .you will never stop it so why try go get a job you dole bludging pack of scum bags fertilize the bush doze in a greenie!!!!!!!
These people aren't true Australian's. No Australian would promote the destruction of our beautiful homeland. Support Plantation Forestry, not Old-Growth Logging.
if the tree huggers that made this crap have ever bought so much as a 2x4 then they are part of the problem.i mean just walk up to that logger and tell him to stop, hero.
i love all of these comments lol!!! just to let people know they're gonna rot and die some day, so would u radther see someone log some of it and let the smaller trees grow, or would u like to see it sit and rot and have people a 100 years from now saying what a fringing ugly forest.
What r u saving them for? they r gonna rot on the stump, and not be productive towards the world that let them grow for that long in the first place. BOO HOO Here in the states, ur kind should be shot and left for the earth to comsume! Never mind the trees save yourselves. LOL
you are a fuck'n asshole. we only have one planet to live you dickhead. you should care about it. logging those trees is just wrong. and if you don't know the diference between right and wrong then your parents dropped the ball raising you. smarten up !!!
@norcallogger I can understand the lack of jobs. sometimes we have to make the right choice in life. greed ruins all. the "only" reason for cutting down these trees is, greed. try this on for size...... good moring my young son, today we are cutting down more of those special trees, so your generation will never see them. You have to feed your family, and pay your bills. But why like this?
@odmcarp yep your right greed runs deep in a lot of things but for logging its not quite the same thing it is a different world and unless you understand it you will never see just how much loggers care about sustaniable forests
@norcallogger then why take part in the destruction? why? if not to feed your family because there is no other way, or you find yourself in dire straits, explain to me why take part in it? if your little ones are hungry, i'd help you feed them. this is the only reason i could agree in taking part. what is your reason?
Mate, you are a 'fuckin asshole' what kind of a stupid comment is that...'Here in the States' yeah right, look how fucked up your country at the moment, at least Australia has a chance to stop any further destruction, America is too far gone to save itself and will eventually end up morally, spiritally and financially bankrupt...enjoy your last days as a super power dickhead because it's all down hill from now...Got a job ? Got a house ? Got a future ?
@Stutube613 yeah beacuse trees wont grow in australia plant the dam things they will grow there is not such thing as a lost bit of land trees are the only source of reuseable recources we have that will keep going forever
I am so incensed at the Brumby Government for allowing this to take place. Removing ancient forests for what ? A handfull of jobs and a couple of thousand votes. This is an absolute disgrace. These forests cannot be replaced, a 500 year old tree to be turned into woodchips bound for Japan. We all need to wake up and realise what's happening in East Gippsland. I will never vote Labor again and starting from now I will do all I can to bring this destruction to the publics' notice. It is a disgrace
i agree with you 100% why would anyone cut those down? what's the sence. if you cut those down, even our grandchildren won't see them. 500 year old trees? it's just greed. the people that order them down should be in prison.
Update. Community outrage at the logging on Brown Mountain forced the Victorian government to suspend its logging. Meanwhile the Dept of Sustainability conducted animal surveys in next logging area. A high concentration of endangered gliding possums and other wildlife was discovered. A stump in the already felled forest was carbon dated to over 600 years old. Next week the premier is expected to announce the forest will not be protected and logging is to recommence in spite of public concern.
What is happening there is happening all over. I once logged and have seen first hand what clear cutting does, it ruined the state where I lives in the US for hunting and most all wildlife. It is a shame greed presses men to forsake nature for cash
@norcallogger I guess you thought for days before making that reply, your deep thought is astounding. What I said is based entirely on fact, one small example is a 40 mile wide 87 mile long area cut in N.W. Louisiana, the trees were clear cut and tops and all left on the ground. That was 26 years ago and the place to this day looks as if a bomb exploded, the so called "replanting" was a joke. You want other examples look to the Rain Forrest in South America, personal profit and greed rule
@errinundra are you sure there endangered or is it that the only found a limmited amount in the area survayed that argument about stoping logging beacuse of animals is bullshit 99% of areas logged and replanted experacne a better diversety of animals and plants than in areas where logging is banned
