You are NOT seeing this in the US! Hollywood will NEVER put this out, even for its historical purpose. You'll probably have to see it in Europe...maybe.

Either way, he's one of the most interesting film makers of the last decade. For better or worse

Last June I went to Birkenau-Auschwitz with my family.. Our guide was telling us the storie and showed us the places we all know from our history books. It was painfull to listen and to see all of that, hard to imagine that it happend. This is the biggest story but we may no forget that still today racism and killing for nothing is happening!! Let this story be an example for something we have to prevent to happen again!! Go to Poland and watch the history if you can!
This is a bold production which needs to made. The liberal media likes to play "protector" of our painful history and blur the truth. Stop being a nanny for the public, make the film. There are so many WWII movies out there and anyone has a hero in it...this movie will show you the completly opposite!Im really excited...but its gonna be really hard!
Even though this movie is receiving alot of critique, I am glad that this movie is coming out. It reminds the world that war and holocausts is hell! Its not a hero hollywood movie with a happy ending.
Maybe its hard, but it gives people the view again of how it really was, its not somthing were people would like to be remembered of, but!
WE MAY NOT AND NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPEND THERE,
AND IN THE OTHER CAMPS!
Its cruel, but its the TRUTH!
So maybe its good to make a movie like this, so humanity will know how horrible a war can be, and how cruel humanity can be but the most importend: how humanity should NOT to treat there fellows.
The reality is very cruel. You are there in Europe, relaxed, grown fat - do not know the truth about the atrocities of the Nazis. In fact, it was scarier than this video.
Do these type of films enrich our society in any way? Do we need to actually see these images remade to know just how horrific it was? I'm sorry but if my studies in history taught me anything about the Nazi treatment of various ethnic groups in concentration camp's it's that no film is needed to paint a picture.
Never again? It did happen again: In Cambodia, The Balkan Wars, etc. Brutality is alive and well in the land of the Taliban. When will we learn? Let's air-drop a copy of the film to the Mullahs in Iran, not that they would care. After all, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem signed up Balkan Muslims to join Himmler's SS, and they were accepted by the Nazis. The time to see this film is now. Boll may be a "schlockmeister" but now he has guts. You go, Uwe. You've redeemed yourself.
well... personally i think its a good thing to show the public how it REALLY was... for as far as a movie can do that. I totally disagree with people who are "OUTRAGED". There are hundreds of thousands of people who claim that this never happened. As one who visited Auschwitz I can tell you it did. As a matter of fact upon visiting, one will see a sign "Welcome to Oswicim (polish of Auschwitz the City of Peace" and a very small sign indicating location of the death camp, how ironic!! Also, there are people living in homes with their BALCONIES overlooking the death camp--how sick is that?? Go UWE BOLL!!!!
The preview is nothing compaired to the stories I heard from my father and surviors.
My father was in the war and he was an american german. How can anyone watch a horror film and think oh it's only a movie but when real life tragity is show oh thats too graphic... Bullsh.... I will see this movie to see the real reality of the horrors of auschwitz.
This movie is wonderful! We must always remember so that this may never happen again! Everyone should see this film, it should mandatory viewing for high school students.

Insofern sollte man viell. doch mal abwarten.
As an aspiring filmmaker, I actually find Uwe Boll to be an interesting character. He definitely has a unique personalty, which goes surprisingly far in writers/directors. While many of his movies have been pretty crappy, they're also undeniably entertaining to watch. 'Postal' showed an improvement, and to me, was what I'd call a decent film. Entertaining, funny, unique, Zack Ward was great. Rampage showed a more "mature" side, and this looks gritty and like he's taking it seriously.
On the other hand, what's worse, a shocking movie or an artsy movie ? Making a beautiful movie about hate, violence and death seems absurd if not impossible. So that's why I have mixed feelings. If it's artsy it's not faithful to history, if it's too impartial it's offending or even dangerous, and if no one makes movies about it, it's possibly worse.
Personally, the most touching testimony I read about the camps was Charlotte Delbo's : horrible yet poetic, true-to-life yet somewhat pudic.
Not sure how I feel about this. A lot of people in the new multimedia generation hardly read at all or watch documentaries, so I guess it makes sense to make movies about the worst part of history. Now with Boll runs the obvious risk of a hurtful, tactless movie, if not grotesque (the people killed in camps were a LOT skinnier than those seen in the trailer ; but then it's hard to find fifty Christian Bales from the Machinist (and if they act like him, it's actually even more of a problem).
This man makes controversiell movies. That is very necessary. I loved his movie "Rampage". How many filmmakers puts the viewers in the eyes of a psychopath? A modern psycho? And this, auschwitz, these kinds of raw footages is nothing else but truth. Why does people cry and scream when these kinda movies are made?! Can´t you handle the truth!? This is life, we are humans, this is what we are capable of doing. Accept that!
films like this are only around to remind people what not to do for a movie. I'm sure Jewish people everywhere will love tears shed by a german man for them. Its like getting pity from the dog that bit you, you don't want it, and its obscene. Considering uwe bolls other movies have been utter turds, i'm sure this movie will top them all in terms of obscenity and stench.
As I understand it, Mr Bolls was not alive at the time of the war, he bit no one.
I think we need to move away from the idea of intergenerational guilt, its not helpful or constructive.
Since the war Germany has been a contructive european partner and while no nation can claim sainthood its unhelpful to refer to this generation of germans as holding some kind of guilt by association with their forebears.
I think that all we ought to do is go towards this oh so healthy "1 land =1 nation!" principle. (With some exceptions, of course - I suppose u know which ones). Just imagine - how many ethnic conflicts it can prevent!
I have never personally seen any of his so called poor directing films, and this is the first time i have ever heard of this guy. This trailer was disturbing, no doubt, but did not make me shun from seeing this film. I am an avid movie watcher of factual films of horrible atrocities that happened in our world's history.
Well done Uwe. I like all of Mr bolls films and this one looks to be shaping really well. Uwe is one of those directors who isnt afraid to tell it how it is no matter how shocking.
Everyone should remember and pay respect to every person who died and suffered during the holocaust. However, this trailer does not seem to do this. How many of those people who were gassed and tortured, do you think, would want a film so graphically depicting their last minutes on Earth? I find this very disrespectful. Making a a film so graphically shocking as this one about the holocaust is not a way to make a name for yourself.
Aber was will man großes von Herrn Boll erwarten?
I hope that this movie isn't a "Splatter-Movie" and Mr. Boll shows respekt for what is happened. But what can we expect from Mr. Boll?
I don't think this film should have been made. I understand that the Holocaust was terrible and shouldn't be forgotten, but exploiting it to make a film is a bit too far.
Later this day we will publish a radio interview with Uwe Boll asking him some questions of the background of the Auschwitz movie. At first the german speaking interview, later this evening with english subtitles.
If Boll is following the trend, he will put the focus on the perpetrators. Which to me is more interesting anyway: wtf made them do it? What speaks for this approach strongly is that it is Boll himself leaning against the gas chamber door.
Well I'm willing to give Mr Boll the benefit of the doubt until the movie comes out, seeing as there isn't much in this trailer, but it's hard to believe that he could make this movie in a way that could be anything but offensively bad.
It's about time Uwe Boll made a film that wasn't based on a video game. Hopefully this movie will be good, and it does look good if the trailer is anything to go by.
Auschwitz during world war 2 was one of the most terrible concentration camps in Germany. They did everything there, from experiments to work, to brutal killings and massacres.
Not a big fan of Uwe Boll, but this trailer makes the movie look enthralling. Lets hope the full movie is as well editted and effecting as the trailer is. To do a movie about this its going to have to be written very well also, lets hope Uwe has stepped it up this time.
the germans dont like this movie because it shows what they have done

@breiter2k

MichaelValentine41 1 year ago
Can someone tell me if they actually like his movies and if so why ?
conall101 1 year ago
@conall101
Yes we like his movies. Well that´s out Top 3:
1. POSTAL, 2. RAMPAGE, 3. STOIC
TeamMadison 1 year ago
@conall101 I love his movies, and here the movies l like from him
1.Seed
2.Rampage
3.Alone in the Dark
4.House of the Dead
5.Bloodrayne
6.In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
and the reason why I like them, they're pretty good to watch, and they're not shitty, and they make sense, and they're really intrensting to watch.

Personally, the most touching testimony I read about the camps was Charlotte Delbo's : horrible yet poetic, true-to-life yet somewhat pudic.
niaj4 1 year ago
Not sure how I feel about this. A lot of people in the new multimedia generation hardly read at all or watch documentaries, so I guess it makes sense to make movies about the worst part of history. Now with Boll runs the obvious risk of a hurtful, tactless movie, if not grotesque (the people killed in camps were a LOT skinnier than those seen in the trailer ; but then it's hard to find fifty Christian Bales from the Machinist (and if they act like him, it's actually even more of a problem).
niaj4 1 year ago
This man makes controversiell movies. That is very necessary. I loved his movie "Rampage". How many filmmakers puts the viewers in the eyes of a psychopath? A modern psycho? And this, auschwitz, these kinds of raw footages is nothing else but truth. Why does people cry and scream when these kinda movies are made?! Can´t you handle the truth!? This is life, we are humans, this is what we are capable of doing. Accept that!

This trailer isn't that disturbing. Watch Philosophy of a Knife or Men Behind The Sun, then you will know what disturbing means.

films like this are only around to remind people what not to do for a movie. I'm sure Jewish people everywhere will love tears shed by a german man for them. Its like getting pity from the dog that bit you, you don't want it, and its obscene. Considering uwe bolls other movies have been utter turds, i'm sure this movie will top them all in terms of obscenity and stench.
DGryph 1 year ago
@DGryph

Everyone should remember and pay respect to every person who died and suffered during the holocaust. However, this trailer does not seem to do this. How many of those people who were gassed and tortured, do you think, would want a film so graphically depicting their last minutes on Earth? I find this very disrespectful. Making a a film so graphically shocking as this one about the holocaust is not a way to make a name for yourself.
andyknowsyou 1 year ago
@andyknowsyou No one can stand the graphical exposure, but maybe the neo-nazis would start to understand the heroic deeds of their idols

Later this day we will publish a radio interview with Uwe Boll asking him some questions of the background of the Auschwitz movie. At first the german speaking interview, later this evening with english subtitles.
TeamMadison 1 year ago
If Boll is following the trend, he will put the focus on the perpetrators. Which to me is more interesting anyway: wtf made them do it? What speaks for this approach strongly is that it is Boll himself leaning against the gas chamber door.

Well I'm willing to give Mr Boll the benefit of the doubt until the movie comes out, seeing as there isn't much in this trailer, but it's hard to believe that he could make this movie in a way that could be anything but offensively bad.

Not a big fan of Uwe Boll, but this trailer makes the movie look enthralling. Lets hope the full movie is as well editted and effecting as the trailer is. To do a movie about this its going to have to be written very well also, lets hope Uwe has stepped it up this time.
