  • Eeeeeh, ok? This is not Joika. its something that may sounds like it but its not.

  • This is really great!

Where can I find this music on cd??

  • YOUR'E wrong peppad1. this joik is from Kautokeino in Norway. joik is called Jonny mathis sara

  • naa nie mehr schuften bin so reich

  • No its not denmark, there is no sami in denmark.

Maybe if they have moved there, but theyre roots is not in denmark.

    Its in sweden,norway,finland.

The sami people and native americans are relatives!

  • @TheEmsann I realize that you made this comment some time ago, but I would like to point out that the Sami and Native Americans are about as closely related as the Mongolian herdsmen are to the Australian Aborigines. Related as closely as any one human to any other, but they don't have any special ties, and I have no idea where such an odd idea came from.

  • <3

  • Tack jag hoppas att jag får komma upp någon gång och lära mej mer om samer och era gamla traditioner !

    Oerhört vacker musik !

    Tack !

  • Sådan här musik får mig att vilja resa till Norrland och bergsvandra

  • vackert

  • recently found out im a descendant from a Sami family that moved south, then the woman Im related to in turn married a jewish man, and I sorta got curious about my roots :P And I must say that I absolutely love the music of Sami!

And thats just my mothers side, my father is part Romani (kind of a Northern Gypsy), part Warmland-man, iffy about where the rest of the family-tree leads from there, but that search is for another day. sry, Im rambling - got all excited over this find xD Awesome music!

  • i really LOVE THIS JOIK!!!!!!

  • Ich weiß zwar nicht, welcher Joik von wo genau es ist, aber weiß ich, dass dieser in eine FilmMusik eingearbeitet wurde.

  • you dumb asses this joik is from northen norway!!!!

  • @joppexable no, its sami, which is norhern of norway, sweden, finland and russia you dumb bitch. dont speak about things you dont know

  • Jojk, även om den här är lite "upphottad" påminner mig rätt mycket om koreansk pansori. Råkade på en man som sjöng pansori i tunnelbanan och det tog mig en stund att inse att han inte jojkade. Häftigt!

  • drit bra

  • If you ever have oppurtunity in your life, you people gotta go to the northernmost part of Sweden, Lapland/Sápmi is there. I ve been there, months ago, in midwinter...no words can describe such an amazing place...

  • were this are from

  • thank you in memoriam Nils-Aslak-Aillo, christiAne*

  • I have a copy of the audio that is labelled "The Journey by White Circle".

  • I'm just wondering WHO SINGS this song!

  • I hear this every day in the radio, haha :D

  • @Superesky Who Sings this song?

  • @Superesky

then maybe u know the name of the artist?

  • @Superesky I wish I could do that too. I love it. Native people are special. I really like our samush people here in sweden :)

  • Who Sing this song?

  • theres nuthin wrong with innovation! the joik is fine.

  • Flog whoever put that drum in there. Stop trying to be "modern" and "cool", stick to the traditional, or do real instruments atleast.

I'm glad to have the sami in Sweden, adds a lot of cultural flavor and heritage to the north. It makes me angry however, how they are some times misstreated by narrow-minded idiots.

  • I love joik! Especially from Norway!

  • Fucking awesomeness!!!

  • That electronic beat is horrible. It would've been great with a more traditional-sounding drum.

  • Maybe the drums are trying to make it sound more modern... Honestly, I like it better without; it sounds more traditional

  • Amazing - it sounds so American Indian! Love it.

  • what is that horribly drumbeat. why is it there?

  • what is that horrible drumbeat? why is it there?

  • Always that hip hop drumbeat on it.... Please take that away!!!!! or I puke!!!!

  • ************ 55 ************

  • your´e all wrong! this is sami joik from Funäsdalen in sweden!

  • @peppad1 This is a beautifull song! What's it called en where can I buy it? Thanks!

  • soma gullat iecan luodi dappe maid :)

  • I love the Joik!

  • I was very sour, but when I heard this song, I was happy: P

  • your fucking slut!

    this music makes me happy!:)

  • I have this single. This is johnny mathis sara's joik and its his mother joiking

  • @sapmelas Oooh, would you be able to send me that music? Because I can't find it..

  • I think the band is called "White Circle" and the song is called "The Journey". Great song!

  • This is realy fantastic! Where do you have this from and what's the title of the song?

  • this was beautiful. Im doing some heritage searching..Mother came from Skane(northern sweden) I remember visiting and my uncle used to joik....I Love it!!!

  • Skåne? You must mean somewhere else, that's the southernmost province, almost Denmark!

  • @iseldin Skane is in Sweden. Check with Hedningarna song Skane and reade where that song comes from. It is Skane Sweden. Nordic Native

  • @TheMaidenBlackRoses

Yes Skåne is in Sweden, BUT IN SOUTH SWEDEN.!! JOIK comes from SAmi -Land wich is in Norrland / Arctic Circle not in South! Sami land is the land above arctic Circle!

  • @gertbenkert please ignore my mommy's comments on here

she always uses my youtube and somehow she gets in it all the freakin time O_O

  • ravenlight61, Skåne is in the very South part of Sweden.

In the very North part of Sweden is Laappland. Have you heard of Lappland or Lappish people and cultture? It is the Lappish people that make the jojk. Jojk is not from Skåne!

  • Actually there was some very odd genetic findings from Lund, Skåne i a mtDNA investigation from 1999, the people there basically genetically looked Sami.

  • Skane is in southern Sweden...but maybe your ancestors were Saami or Lapplanders etc.

  • Northen Sweden Skåne ?. It,s the Sout of Sweden. And Lappland is the North.

  • lol skane is really south, not lappland where sami live

  • send me plz!!

    love the pic

  • this is not inspired by enigma this is jojk songs from the north older much older than enigma

  • its a real joik with extrads its been in amovie two vägvisaren

  • Is it from Finnmark?

  • whats finnmark

  • Finnmark (modern) = Finmork (old norse = Finn (old norse word for Sami), mork = wilderness, so it means the place where Sami live or the Sami's place.

  • Inspired by Return to innocence by Enigma? Nice anyway

  • Since the sapmi culture is a little bit older I would say it´s Enigma that is inspired by this

  • True, but the chant is a bit older than Enigma, I guess. Anyway, I like them both

  • @forzathomas Enigma wasn't inspired by Saamis. The singer in the Enigma song (which I kind of hate, actually!) was a Taiwanese aboriginal man from the southeast of Taiwan. Enigma didn't credit him and he seems to have made no money from the song despite being sampled. It does sound kind of similar to this, anyway.

  • @blackjamm I think you're talking about the song "Return to Innocence". You're right the chant is not Saami its "Ami" a tribe from Taiwan and the chant is called by the Ami people "The Jubulant Drinking Song"

  • Sorry. Its opposite. Very opposite...;)

  • Happy to see there are opinions.

    Love the sapmi chants:-)

  • vad är namnet på den här låten?

what is the name of this song?
