Great idea. To start with I was thinking 'who would donate 10% of their income willy nilly'? but the concept of not paying anything until 10 million other people do is genius. Well done and good luck :-)

Thanks for the positive feedback. The idea is an amalgamation of a lot of different ideas. What is amazing is that until the internet, this really wouldnt have been possible. Hopefully this and other ideas will spring the internet as more of a platform for social change. Thanks again.

This is exactly what the Mormon religion does. If you belong to the Mormon Church, you are "required" to give 10% of your income to the church.

Yes, this is why we picked that number, it has a long standing precedent. One major difference from religious donations is the deferred giving, whereby people would only give if we can build the community whereby we meet the ~60 Billion needed by the MDG.
