Minecraft - How to Install 7-Zip (and use it for modding Minecraft.jar)

The only thing i had to different was download the 64-bit because thats what I have but when i right click minecraft.jar it dont have the "open with 7-zip" can somebody help me. i also tried going to open with and then browse for 7-zip and it still will not work please help

HELP!!

I downloaded 7-zip and followed all the steps that you said to, i opened up my minecraft folder went to bin the minecraft.jar, and opened it using 7zip. No problem so far. Then i downloaded the mod loader (as showen in your other video) I tried copying and pasting the material in the folder, draging and droping it, and pressing the add button in 7zip. All it says to me is.. "Operation is not supported"

Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated, hopefully Paul, but anyone.

@LevanShow When you go to the 7 zip website, there are two download options(64 bit and 32 bit). You click on the 2nd option which is the 64 bit download and follow the rest of the video. Hope this helped!!!

@paulsoaresjr now using 7-zip when i try and drag my mod files into the.jar, a little black oval pops up over my mouse and it won't let me drag them into the old minecraft.jar files shown at 5:18 of your video. it just will not let me do it.... what the hell. and yes, i did delete meta-inf.

Omg. Thank you. Since christmas i was waiting for my new laptop. One of the 1st things i did was download 7-zip to download mods. I had dowloaded 32 bit, thank god i realized my problem. i probably thought i was 32 bit because of my mom laptop is 32.... so thank you. hopeuflly it will work. well i better get installing the shield with blue and yellow is flashing yellow on the bar thingy at the bottom. i guess i have to do something else

@Jayandes then make sure that u downloaded the correct 7.zip and that its the 32 for the 32 and the 64 for the 64 if still not then why not uninstall it and start from installing it from scratch or now this would not be too good but your windows could be corrupted and need to re install windows or i guess its best to wait to see what Paul might say but all in all that's why i have more that one partition of windows installed 32bit, 64bit + X.P as well but find that i never use it only when need2
