I love vinyl I have been playing them since I was 5 or younger and I am 34 years old now. I have over 7000 45's and a couple hundred Albums. There is no end in sight to my wish list either. VINYL RULES !!!!!!!
@toysrusbaby Cool, I know some friends of my say that they go to auctions to buy stuff. A few times they see records for sell but nobody places a bid on them and soon either get taken back to how had them or go to the dumpster. When i heard "dumpster" for the records, it made me sad that i was not there to save them before getting tost out. If it was 78's, that is not right.
I started watching this, and at first, I was thinking this was just gonna be some crazy guy ranting.... but I listened to what you had to say.... and some of these comments here that you have received. One guy said it right... about cds going out... and another said "long live vinyl"... I agree... great video, mate!
@TEMPmichaelhansen Yep, that is true. It's about as bad when grown people with jukeboxes do this stuff. I got a jukebox in from down south in a scrap yard and it's a reack, i felt sad for that jukebox :.( . I seen one video from retrochad that someone wired the ground wire in a plug to hot, thats asking for dangeris trouble.
That makes you one the lucky rare person that injoys listing to history and save vinyl before they are all gone. I injoy vinyl so much i got 6 jukeboxes to play them and turntables all over the place. I think my best price is having Two rare jukeboxes and some rare, hard to find records. Are parents shure no how to raise up right.
Not that it will but i just to show others what some not vary brite human beings like to do with records the there pearents had and got stuck with them. In some cases they brake them for fun like other stuff. So, i say this is the world we are all stuck in and get are a$%es out of this poop hole of druged generachion.
I just subscribed to your channel and I dig what you have to say about people butchering vinyl for no reason. Why would anyone want to do this to a record when you could hand it down to someone else or even play them to hear if they are good or not. One thing I have to correct you on is the statement that you made about "records not being as good as CD's". They are not as good but they are better than CD's. You cannot hear on CD the punchy sound that a record puts out!

I think that people, usually the young, insolent, ignorant ones, might tend to hate vinyl records because they represent an era that's long gone; a better era. I think people are lead to believe that because technology is constantly "advancing", the older technology should either be destroyed or completely neglected and cast into oblivion. It's ridiculous to assume that something very old is garbage because of its age. In the case of vinyl records, my opinion is that they sound great.
continued - The ongoing fascination with vinyl records isn't only to do with nostalgia, as a lot of people would like to believe; it's mainly due to the crisp sound reproduction itself. I have a very small vinyl collection myself but I carefully choose which records to buy. Take my absolute favorite musician Vangelis. I have albums Mask, Albedo 0.39, Jon & Vangelis' Short Stories and my favorite song "I'll Find My Way Home" on a 12" 45 RPM single. I plan to collect all Vangelis' music on vinyl.
If you Do some research i'm pretty shear you will find some shows. I know i'm going to a Record and CD show this Sunday in Ann Arbor, MI(Which i Live in Jackson,MI) at Weber's Inn. If You Live in MI Then you can come to this one. The Show is called "Monster Record & CD Collector's Show".
I am not really to share about that one. My Ges it would mean that the stereo sound is recorded 360 degrees around the mic to get the greatest sound. For the mp3's, I don't know would someone put something like that on the title of the file. It would make know sence at all.
@CloudTheTank If it was a good thing to say 360 stereo on my ipod then they would say that and junk. I think it means that when the record is spinning it spins fast at 360 inches per second or something I did research on records from old people and they said when they were young in the 80's the records went faster than cd's and that make them better and the needle hits the groove in the stereo relm
They say vinyl records will still be made even after the last compact disc rolls off the assembly line. CDs had their heydey in the 1990's but since the dawn of music downloads people stopped buying them. Yet vinyl records have dignity in our music history, and the great sound they produce is being re-examined by a new generation. I for one have found that it's actually fun to buy music again, the posters, the incense, you don't get that feel from iTunes. Plus I support local businesses.
Sure. People do still buy Cds, but I saw a recent music industry survey that came out in SPIN magazine that stated two years ago of ALL music sold on downloads and cds 65% was on cd and 35% was sold on downloads. The industry project that in 2010 cds will drop to 50% while downloads will increase to 50%. Vinyl is up over 90% the past two years. 10% away from being twice as much! There is reason store like best buy and Hasting are carrying more vinyl and download cards than ever before.
i feel for u man, vinyl records are pretty cool I used to collect them myself. The other day, I saw one on the "Happy Time" label (not sure if you know that one)with a huge piece broken off of it in the alley. Play 'em, don't break 'em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sad that this happens to so many records. I think if more people had a chance to hear a well cared for record on a a good sounding system, things would have probably been different.
But ironically, vinyl is one of the few recording mediums that has lasted forever, and will probably continue to do so.
I have found that the small amount of noise on the average vinyl is nowhere near as annoying as tape hiss or digital compression harshness.
In response to an earlier post that said someone should be putting out new vinyl. There are companies, you might check out acousticsoundsDotCom for a great offering of current vinyl releases. They are also the owners of a highly touted newer record label - Analogue Productions which produces mostly audiophile quality jazz releases. I have dealt with them personally and have found them both knowledgable and trustworthy.
oh, lol ,, Cds are a lot cheaper to produce than Vinyl or tapes,, think about ,, you can buy 100 pack of Blank CDs for about 25 dollars,,, but a 2 pack of decent Cassette tapes will put u back close to 5 bucks lol so, doing the math,, 100 quality cassettes would put u back about 225.00 dollars!!
CD-Rs stop working after just a few years for no reason, while vinyl records and cassettes can last for many decades! I burned CD-Rs for audio CD players, and they have started to click and skip! There's a reason why CD-Rs are cheaper: they don't last!!!
Exactly, Thats why vinyl is a much better archiving media. My older sister told me that some of the archiving banks that she had visited recomended their costumers to replace a burned CD-R about every three years, just because they don't last very long.
I think people hear the word Digital, and automatically assume its better! and another thing cracks me up is HD (High Definition) LOL Old Televisions from the 70s had better quality pictures than these new flat panels,, and Old Tube radios sounds a heck of alot better than these new transistor systems!! Its all Hype to sell New,, New is not always better,,,most of the time, new is just better for Production cost!! Higher Profit marjins!
PEOPLE STILL MAKE VINYL TO THIS DAY 2008!!! IF I HAD THE MONEY I COULD BUY A BUNCH OF 2008 RECORDS. I AM SERIOUS!!! (everybody else has forgotten the old days of people having fun record chucking like frisbees) YOU MAY NOT REALISE HOW MUCH SOME OF THAT STUFF IS WORTH. in this day and age, if you chuck records, you have to clean them up. people used to have a lot of fun, throwing them like frisbees, watching them hit the ground and break. aaahh the good old days...people still use records!!!
It just goes to show how easy people are stuped into believing anything they are told. Before cds the artist didn't have to worry about loosing money in pirating, when cd's were introduced that changed for ever the hold music industry it went down the toilet. What people don't know is when you burn a cd u just don't get the same quality as a vynul record and life cycle is less then 2 to 3 yrs. they totaly cut thier own throats when they give up on vynul vynul will last forever
i'm only 19, and I agree... vinyl sounds much better than CD quality, and... honestly... the thought of people breaking them just makes me sick to think that this society, and the other young people that inhabit it, are all going down the toilet...
I'm glad my parents raised me right, and i'm glad I don't go around doing stupid shit like the majority of highschool/college students...
and the answer to your question of why anybody would do this is simple. because they were bored. sad stuff.
@VigorousJammer yeah.... I'm only 15 and I agree. Vinyl sounds so much better than my IOPD and CD's and junk on accoun-a the needle hits the groove. I did research on records and they said the needle hits the groove and big fastness and that makes them better than the IDOP's. They go faster and junk.
