Hey guys this is a great song, i was wondering if you guys could go to my page and listen to my new songs and tell me what you think! thanks Everyone its a new band named Communication Eruption!
The CD version is my favorite song on the album. It has that whole Supertramp vibe going on. This version rocks, but since almost all of their songs rock, this version lacks the unique melodic quality of the studio version.
I was looking forward to hearing this intro on the CD version so much. I have to agree with most everyone here, I say this version is better than the album song, although the last minute and a half of the studio version is pretty BA.
Whoaaa, Did anyone hear the newer version of violence of the sun off of their myspace page?? I honestly have no idea why they altered it so heavily. Personally I think this version is far better than what they're going to put on the album.
I disagree, I think the new version is their most epic song. It's a lot different than most of their songs but I still love it, there's just so much emotion in it.
I'm really looking forward to the album version of this song. That intro is amazing. So maybe it is a bit rehashed (It's easy to hear the similarities to "Keep Yourself Alive" and "Children of the Grave"), but it's still great.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Stockdale is the main musical influence, that's probably why they left. So they music probably won't change, they'll just be two different memebers playing it.
Well of course they did. That's the way it goes with every band. I'm just saying that I don't think it'll be too hard for Stockdale to find replacements of equal talent.
equal talents, ya but i mean... this was the aussie trio, its not like itd still be wolfmother with two generic american musicians slapped onto it (before we go anywhere, yes i am an american, you cant pull the uh race (i guess) card on me) o well, stockdale is kinda the Paul Mcartny of the group, he reminds me of him a little too
Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I'm American too, so you don't have to worry about the "Nationality" card. I just don't think it would be any different with two other people. It's not like they were the best musicians in the world. I'm sure they can easily be replaced.
hendrix covered bob dylans "all along the watchtower" the doors copied alot of deep purples ideas, your forgetting theres like 21 frets on a guitar your bound to bump into someones riffs at one point mate, wolfmother are a great live band i saw them last year and i think they deserve credit for being "classic" id prefer this one song to any manufactured wanky rock bands like fall out boy look at the difference they just copied a michael jackson song for fuck sake!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The intro is just like children of the grave? What the fuck. They have stolen so many things from classic rock bands, Woman is like a faster version of roadhouse blues by the doors, and violence of the sun is from tales of brave ulysses by cream, and purple haze is in the sky is kind of like taken from purple haze by jimi hendrix. It makes me sick.
oh, please! Better they copy the greatest bands ever, than run around in circles copying themselves and each other, like all the modern pop-rock bands out there. I mean, the Rolling Stones never wrote original material until their 3rd or 4th album, and when they did, it was derivative of the covers they had played, but it was still some of the greatest music ever created. Give e'm time to grow, man!
hey, I wasn't being an asshole, man. I dig older music, and I get where you're coming from. I'm just saying, it's a lot easier to get famous these days--it happens to bands quicker than in the past, before they're "mature" enough for it, and you have to understand that and allow for it. They'll get better--hell, they already put on a better live show than anyone out there!
dude, fuck you man, wolfmother is a great band, i agree with deliriustrigger, almost every band "steals" some kind of guitar rift no an again, you know what im not even going to say "steals", its more like recycling. and if it makes you so sick, dont listen to it bitch.
you hav 2 b kiddin me right. the intro isnt children of the grave, and they havent "STOLEN" anything, u obvisly believe in all dat copyright bullshit, music shud b free, so you think "i own this collection of sounds and if any1 copys it or makes a variation of it there steelin it" and no woman isnt a faster version of roadhouse blues. and bcoz violence of d sun is a lyric in tales of brave ulyses doesnt meen anythin nore does it mean anything about the purple haze thing u talked about.
It also sounds like "Keep Yourself Alive" intro by Queen. I got the Cream reference and expected this song to be a harder song than most Wolfmother songs as Ulyses was a heavy song-at least live. Some musicians get inspiration from others, and put a twist on it. That's what the majority of Zeppelin's songs are, but it's still good, and not outright stealing, I'll listen to if if it's good Wolfmother could have called it "Violence of the Universe" and you wouldn't have got the reference.
you have a very right wing aproach to music wich is very sad. i call people like you music-nazis. you think bands shud own certain sounds. and im a huge fan of everyband u menchond there Sabbath,Cream,TheDoors and hendrix. its not u who shud feel sik its Wolfmother who shud feel sik of people like you. yes each to there own opinion but your opinion is warped uv got alot of growing up to do
i hope wolfmother puts in some psychedelic rock in too like white unicorn and apple tree for example not just stoner rock but by hearing this it sounds fucking brilliant already
Led Zeppelin are without doubt in a league of their own. Their musical talent was and always will be much better than that of Wolfmother. How can you compare Wolfmother to Led Zeppelin, the band who created hard rock and produced their first 4 amazing albums within 3 years as a group. Wolfmother has produced one album, which was flogged to death.enough said.
your right you cant compare wolfmother to zeppelin but wolfmother is still better that all these emo gay shitty ass bands that are out now like afi, dragonforce, and so onthey are definitly the best band since the 80s
You mean like Fall Out Boy, Senses Fail, Rise Against, From First To Last, Panic At The Disco and shitty bands like that? They really piss me off. I love Wolfmother for keeping the roots of rock alive.
Led Zepplin was one of the first true rock bands, but wolfmother is going on where they stopped. This has been a preaty bad decade for rock, there havent been a any new killer guitarist like jimmy page, Jimi Hendrix, or Tony Iomme, All hip hop and pop it sucks, theyve totaly ownde the market look at the top 10 songs on itunes music video shows on mtv and other music channels. Thats my opinion, This is real rock.
No shit there. Thank God that there are bands willing to play actual rock. Bands like the ones you mentioned are the death of rock music. Long live bands like Wolfmother, Jet, The Vines, The Black Keys, etc. Long live rock!
Well i personally think that wolfmother is the best band since the 90s maybe even the 80s fact of the matter is that wolfmother RULES!! new album will be great
i went to see wolfmother last june in norwich these dudes have saved rock music, cant do with all that emo horseshit they would have been strong contenders for the top with sabbath and zeppelin in the seventies, jimmy page loves them and so do i! wolfmother saved rock how it should be
i agree with you, up till the point you said they are contenders with zep and sab.....come on thats pusin it, with only 1 released album, they are good but not quite that good.
i think wolfmothers album was better than zeps and sabbath first album, and remember wolfmother the same gear sabbath used so its bound to have that sound, led zepp 1 wasnt really good 2 was alot better, wolfmother will prove that they are as good this next album this song rocks
this song is like 10000 times better than the cosmic egg version. the new wolfmother suck
