you can make that darkening work FOR you too. I do alot of floral and fauna work, I'll lay down my backgrounds then spray, then and select a few things in the back ground and brighten them. the result is a 3D effect. Now granted I work primarily with hard to medium pastels. ie Nupastels, Holbeins, a few select yarkas, but I'm aware of what the effects are and use to my advantage.
@Brialinni Dear Brianlinni I have just started trying pastels (although am not happy with the results as yet-I need more practise and ideas) and would love to see some of your floral and fauna work - have you got a website please?
