  • sweet as

  • roots manuva, akala, lowkey, rodney p, ghost poet, skinnyman, blak twang, big up the uk scene

  • FIGHT NIGHT CHAMPION brought me here.

  • What are the lyrics??????????

  • @elmundo88 Dude, you're entitled to your opinion but I have to disagree. This beat has this whole head-nodding cricket-pitch-Caribbo-dub-swagger thing going on. At the same time, it doesn't try too hard, which isn't really important, as the quality of the vocals and the hook seem to shine through on all the remixes of this tune. LOVE IT!

  • i love roots manuva but this beat is whak.......that clap is disgusting

  • @elmundo88 its not the same beat as on the album either

  • fire

  • true Rap & Hip Hop is Underground. Roots Manuva is great hip hop artist, but i think he should have his own music Genre.

  • sorrry, i'm not havin a go, but containznutzrule are you agreeing with me. i can't tell :L

  • Ha ha this is Kew Green I knew Roots loved the ends.

  • Man this is totally awesome!

  • 2:48 - 2:51 the best hahahahah

  • This is off the hook. Hip Hop and cricket - what's not to like? (Unless ure Australian of course...)

  • @Newbie49 Lick my dick

  • @FeriayFiestas Id say you felt burnt by Newbie's comment, but that'd mean you'd have Ashes, so guess not.

  • @Fuplomacy I'll take an economy and climate that isn't a global embarrassment over the ashes anytime, again & again.

  • @FeriayFiestas And im sure one day you will have it, hey, how's that big rock of yours doing?

  • @FeriayFiestas So you CAN'T be Australian then. Given that the GDP of London alone ranks above Australia complete. So you must be American, Chinese or German but def not Australian with chat about economy and economic climate - not even an Aussie would be that economically inept...

  • @Newbie49 Oi, don't be one of those wankers who throws argumentative chat over the Internet.

  • @FeriayFiestas No, you're quite right - 'Lick my dick' isn't really an arument. It's a statement. Of what I'm not quite sure - sexual preference perhaps???

  • What dem do to you mi boss... You look ill!...

  • What dem do to you mi boss... You look ill!...

  • i just love him. what a joy.

  • Is that a greengrocer's apostrophe I see there?

  • How do I get hair like that?

  • Roots Manuva is the meanest!

  • Ah, the British summer. Can't wait. 1love

  • massssssakra

  • as an american, we have nothing on roots manuva. our hip hop turned to rap which turn to crap years ago. this stuff is good.

  • @zoggedge British hop is different, lots of jamaican influence... THat's neat

  • @zoggedge : altho i hear every sad word your saying, just chill for a sec.and remember,BRONX Boogie-Down and Sugar Hill (NYC),Kurtis Blow,Run DMC/Fat Boys etc........ is where it all started.but you are indeed correct,Roots Manuva is still keepin it real and american rap is slowly spinning around a toilet bowl

  • @zoggedge Raker humble

  • anyone that wants to have a chop at english hiphop, because your too ignorant to understand that nearly every country on the face of the planet has their own form of hip hop, if they rapped with americans accents i wouldnt listen to it, it's unique, and if you can't respect the differences, then kindly, fuck off.

  • this reminds me of bob marley , but like , a new marley

  • @whutps tthe new marleys eh they exist yo

  • its like the cricket green at warbourgh! (middle england could have easily been Windsor or somet)

  • Sometimes I can't believe how much I love this music.

  • This reminds me of epic village cricket games in the summer. Ahh it may seem slow and boring to some people, but cricket is where it's at- a cold beer by the pitch while soaking up the sun. Can't be beat

  • @containznutzrule GANGSTA!!!

  • @containznutzrule Damn right.

  • this is just way better than that american shit

  • well well well

  • gotta love how people get butt hurt over a difference in opinion. no sense in wasting time saying who is right or who is wrong. just shut the hell up and enjoy this fine music.

  • I love his obvious English accent when he raps. Somehow it is different to others!

  • Comment removed

  • matt helders version is better

  • @Dessyman18 no its not.......thats my opinion...

  • Nothing quite like Cricket on the green on a sunny weekend... nothing like Roots Manuva on form... Good stuff :)

  • This tune is the bollox!

  • on of the biggest stars on this year's hip hop kemp! only 9 days left :)

  • beaten by a wooden spoon or two. loool

  • I live in Canada and I wished I grew up in the UK. The music here is quite honestly shit with a few exceptions, but it is mostly driven by what 12-16 year old girls like to listen too. But don't think all the people in north america are tone deff who only list to justin bieber and the jonas brothers. There is hope still.

  • @Gibson2471 Yeah the UK seems to be good at he moment, I'm sure you don't neeed music help but have you heard of Abdominal? great canadian MC that works loads with DJ Format from Brighton,UK. 'Music for the mature B-Boy' is an amazing album!

  • omg this is Kew green

  • niceness!

  • Roots Mauva puts America Crap, I mean Rap, to shame!

  • LOL Roots Manuva have the coolest videos

  • shit man, i want a roots cricket bat

  • at :46 I WANT THAT BAT!!!

  • wheres his helmet!

  • love it!!

  • Cricket really is a boring sport. ;p But this is great, and so is Roots - my favorite English rapper, glad to find another other than Slick Rick I can bare listening to. Gief more English rap. ;>

  • @jwfeatherstone Try Genesis Elijah.

    He's a top grime artist.

  • Roots rocks and a great sense of humour. Very cool and diverse. I think UK Hip hop has nothing to be ashamed of what so ever. Im from New Zealand and I've enjoyed UK for years.

  • cannot listen to this without feeling good

  • they say i sound like this guy ...

search for 'binary process ryanjmccormack' on youtube

  • Most respected manoeuvres ever. Don't go plastic please.

  • Cricket FTW. Manuvs should be more popular over here in NA

  • I Hate when songs are recognised through games!

i seen a comment about fight night round 4 and i was listening to the longg before that game, ROOTS!

  • Nah, it's good that people have that sense of nostalgia when they hear a song that reminds them of good times way back.

It feels great hearing songs I heard on Fifa in '03 upwards.

  • There is a lot of the old school coming out and taking pops at the new "talent". Both sides of the pond.

  • gotta be his best song

  • we got to make moves no loafing about, he aint got no clout, she aint got no clout, but still they wanna come here to run up their mouth. ha ha ha

  • Fight Night Round 4!!!!!!!!

  • if UK hip hop is gonna evolve into any future, the people are gonna have to study roots manuva. like it or not. :-/

  • Not really hip-hop, it has more of a reggae tone to it.

  • @garfus2 already studied cuz

  • @garfus2 why...? Innovate!! not recreate... plenty of talent you never would of heard of anyway.....

  • 159,000 views is criminal

  • Hahaha. What a fine sense of humour you have:-)

  • roots manuva's albums are fairly spotty and laterly they've been getting kinda dull (maybe cuz he's gettin old?). but he is still the greatest UK rapper, hands down. just look at his face and you can see how damn real roots manuva is... take one look at tupacs face and you can see how f@#$ing fake he was and always will be little smurf hollywood actor gummy bear gangsta LOL start flame war now.

  • Excuse me, stop trashing the USA critics.

    How can they overstand?

This is in English. Might as well be Chinese to them.

Not their fault, blame the education system :P

  • whatever, if we are the source of the genre (hip hop) then we are allowed to criticize the music. i like roots manuva but who the hell are you? i can care less if you brits criticized american music. music is universal. damn beezy.

  • he's like "YEEEEHH!"

  • Not exactly text book at the crease but great tune and Vid.

  • Yeah, the amount of time it took him to get his pads on, he would've been timed out!!

  • good to have roots manuva back in my life. He has been banging albums out since the 90's

  • great

  • I'm afraid sir, that you are wrong. You obviously haven't listened to Run Come Save Me.

  • @bigupdadavidcross quality comment sir.

  • @bigupdadavidcross Im from the U.S. and I loled

  • obviously not an expert on any hip hop sir

  • Brand New Second Hand is a brilliant album, lyricaly as well, and that is some of his older stuff. Run come save me as well of course

  • what bout Dub come save me? that album is good.

  • brand new second hand(in the top 10 british hip hop albums) & run come save me were good albums, awfully deep & slime & reason are awful, end of.

manuva has gone in a bad direction & sums up the state of hip hop in general!!!

  • i seen him in dublin in oct an it was defo one of the best hip-hop gigs i ever went too, lasted ages too guess it was an off night for him in KOKO

  • I went to see Roots at KOKO and i have to say i was very disappointed. He was totally wasted and needn't have bothered turning up. The rest of the band was really good and they totally held it together. I wanted a refund and left very disappointed. I had given someone a ticket as a gift and felt it was a shit present when all was said and done.

  • Yo Yotru, maybe things were tuff for him man at the time. The guys deep and speaks from the Heart. Highly Creative people can shine light and dark with almost apparently no explanation. Ruff diamonds are rare, everything else is polished to shit. Follow his lyrics man.... peace

  • What an alien! Love this guy!

anybody going to see him at koko this thursday?

  • best track of the album!

  • this is filmed on kew green

    sw london

  • jehst is clearly the best rapper in britain infact he is the best rapper in the world. rhyme asylum are also very sick...

  • slow down there man, no one is the best and i can think of many better mc's. KRS, WU, Pac, Big, GZA, Immortal Technique, Rakim, Big L, and many many many others come to mind. not hatin but put this in perspective.

  • roots manuva songs are clearly better than 2pacs

  • i don't know about that. Pac was a deep man. you're entitled to your opinion but i wouldn't say "clearly" better.

  • Haha, such a random comparison.

  • about 2pac? im just meaning tunes/beats come first then words and 2pacs tunes were shit basically roots manuva gets the girls moving better :P ha

  • i think we can all agree that roots is a bangin guy

  • finaly sum1 talkin sense

  • i need to get me self to england

  • don't be thinkin it's this sunny everyday! also, not so many cricket matches on england village greens

  • yes u doooo

  • I don't think anything belongs to anywhere anymore, it's wonderful! No country owns anything, it's planetary! No one country owns anything anymore! Timesa changing!

  • Umm the way we produce curry in Britain is completely different the the 'curry' they have in india ! For starters they dont actually have sauce with their chicken ! So yes curry is british LOLLL
