Either your internet isn't fast enough or if you use wireless, you might not have a good enough signal.

You'd only be able to open it if you had access to the school's router. If they have it password protected (guarantee it), your only option would be first to find it, and secondly to be able to press the reset button on the back (hold for 5 secs or so) to get it to defaults. Go back and forward correct ports and enable UnPn.

But I doubt it's worth all that.

Honestly, don't complain about something you clearly know nothing about.

NAT was designed to allow multiple computers connect to the internet. A perfect example is your home. You probably have a wireless router that connects to an internet modem. The internet uses public IP addresses where as non-internet networks use private IP. When you get internet, you only get ONE public IP address.

@Pivot4lyfe So without NAT, only one computer can connect at a time. Your router performs NAT (or sometimes a server). That allows multiple private IP addresses to connect to a single public IP address. It's also a security feature too. If you monitored traffic leaving your network, you'd never know which computer it came from since it all leaves from that same public IP address.

If by simply enabling Universal Plug and Play doesn't work, try forwarding the correct ports for your 360.

@vogosvagen I've never heard of NAT being referred to by a number.

NAT= Network Address Translation. In short, it can allow multiple private IP addresses to connect to one public IP address. If you don't know the difference between the two, I suggest Googling it since I've explained this multiple times.

But it doesn't have anything to do with your speed. It's more of a security feature. But don't freak, it's not going to like seriously open you to any major threats. It's perfectly fine.

@firetFuckTheSystem Actually the "1394" isn't an address.1394,or known as firewire,is an adapter on my system.It's Apple's version of USB.USB is much more widely popular but is actually slower(although with USB 3.0 I'm not too sure who's faster now).

Most computer's do have a firewire port on their computer,it's not uncommon.Can't say I've ever used it before though.

For the most part,you could also google the model number of your Router.You could do it this way...

"How to open my NAT for a Telus (insert model number here) router?" or

"How to port forward for a Telus (Again,insert model number) router?"

@Denizcan4 Yeah if you actually turn NAT off it will disconnect your internet.Your internet needs it to function.You have to enable UPnP so your router allows your xbox to have the correct ports forwarded in order to play smoothly online.

If that doesn't work,then you have to manually forward ports.

Basically,UPnP isn't forwarding the correct ports for you,so you'll have to do it yourself(which is in the other tutorial).

@rmonell912 Well,just for the record,I did say it a few times in the video....and it the description....but once again I'll be nice and tell you.

Typically when you first set up your router,you put a password on it(both for the wireless and so you can't log on to the router and chance settings).So....whoever set up your router will know the password.

If not,there is a reset button in the back.Just press it and hold it down for a few seconds.But there will be a default username and password.

@rmonell912 Be aware once you press the button it resets all settings to default.Which shouldn't be a big deal really.All you'd have to do is re secure your internet(which isn't hard at all...).Everything else is fine at default.Like I said there still will be a default username and password.Typically like Admin/password or blank(literally blank not the words blank)/password,or root/password or Admin/no password.

Simply Google the model number of your router for default username and password.

Alright,since it was over a year ago that I did this I'll just explain it here.

Click Start,Control Panel,Network Connections,Local Area Connection,Support Tab,Then check out your Default Gateway.

Once you know your Default Gateway address,go to a web browser(Internet Explorer,FireFox etc.)and type it in and go there.

Since routers are all different search around in different tabs or areas until you find an option to enable UPnP(or as I put it here UnPn).Enable UPnP and hit save changes.

If you hit enable and save and if you simply hit the "Back" button on the webpage it's going to say it's disabled.

You'd have to mark the radio button enabled,hit save changes,then go to my main page and back again to see that it's enabled.

NAT is Network Address Translation, it translates private IP addresses it a public one for routing on the internet.

The default gateway is the gateway out of your local network, to connect to remote networks (internet).

If you disable NAT on a typical home LAN then you will not be able to communicate via the internet, due to it not translating the private IP address.

You can also change your default gateway too and 10.0.0.138 is the first I've heard of.

The most common one is 192.168.0.1

Yeh go to Network, then network and sharing centre (Near the top but under the search bar thingo) , then manage network connections (on the left), then either LAC Or LAN or wireless blah, then double click on it and then click details then get the defult gateway ip.. should look like 192.167.31.2 then follow the tutorial from there :)

Your going to have to manually forward ports through your modem/router for it to work.
