To believe that an all powerful being allows free will to something he created isn't illogical. It's also not illogical to believe that if somebody does something stupid, or makes an error in judgement with a car that God might give him a second chance.

I think your assumption that God would 'inherintly control the actions of ... humans' is a flawed premise, though.
