@ZhoomTheCool once you create your text just drag it into the text timeline and it should show up on the preview screen :)

I recorded my desktop with camstudio, and it is in high quilaty, I can see every leter on the video,

then in power d, it get's blerry, and pixel like, only after I add it to the time line, it look's fine when previewing

it before i add it to the timeline, Any idea's?

@Kylinho1997 @Kylinho1997 that depends on the aspect ratio. check if power director is in the same aspect ratio as your camera. This will be either widescreen which is 16:9 or normal which is 4:3. To change the aspect ratio on power director: go "file" then "aspect ratio" and change it there :)

@darkangeljoy ive got a tutorial on version 8 if you havent seen it, but its probably the same method. where youve got the time line time at the top, drag or click the timeline line where you want to go. hopefully this helps :)

I have a video to edit, which is a home movie that my uncle has sent on dvd.

It's a movie of his art exhibition, with still pictures which all have this naff transition. I want to chop it up and add the much better cyberlink transitions to each picture. I know how to split them, but I can't suss out how to make the timeline bigger / zoomed in, so I can see what I'm doing.

Can you advise me please?

What video format did You use to post it in the time line? I always get a message that says something like" Warning! your project contains one or more video clips whose TV format is different from you preference setting...(and so on)" whenever i put a video on the timeline. Can you help me?

@MGMfun96 its alright i get what you mean. first you plug your camera into the computer. then click on "capture" like i did with the webcam. and an icon with a camcorder should show up. click on that and record what part of the footage you want :)

@aquayoshi98 i dont think you can shrink the video, however you can make sidebars by using one of the colour boards :)

@aquayoshi98 its under the all media bar, and then color boards. then drag which colour you want onto one of the PIP tracks. There you can resize it. you may also be able to do this with a video.

@Mrleeartmaster hmmm thats never happened to me sooo i cant really help you on that one. is this when you save the file or when you produce your video?

@Mrleeartmaster try saving it in the file it wants to save as, which should be pds meaning its a power director file not an actually video file. Hope that helps? :)

@finaldoggy check when you put the video on to the computer, if its your camera that didnt record sound. you may also of accidently muted it when editing.

Hi. I am getting a strange "flash" on scene changes in my movie. I am using v 7 with a combo of pics and vid clips. It seems to happen only on some of the clips. after slowing it down, the flash is the previous scene for about a microsecond. It does not appear in the file version, only the produced dvd version. any suggestions? Oh I also use the "fade" effect in between clips. thanks

@gort1961 this may be because there are too many changes, and if your computer is slow then the video maybe a little dodgey.

I would do if you like to have a slighty more powerful programme than movie maker. if yes than i do recommend this programme for the price range it is at. however if you are willing to pay more for a more powerful programme., then i recommened pinnacle stuido 12 plus. Before you make any discisions search google for a trial version of cyberlink or pinnacle and yes i do use this programme alot, but i would like to move on to a more powerful programme like pinnicle studios 12

I played with Pinnacle just recently, its god awful slow on exporting and it is buggy. An example would be where you add an effect to a clip and it doesnt show until you close and re-open the effect screen. I spent 3+ hours exporting a 9 minute video(avchd) to have it crash at 80%. Havent played with it since then,

if you want to upload with an HD option go to create streaming file and then pick Windows Media 9 HD (This option produces with 8000kbps and 29fps) which enables the HD option
