  • Pw or air ??

  • in order to sync the strobes with pocket wizard, all you do plug in the tt5 on the strobes?

  • @kennethFOB Tyler is using the PocketWizard MiniTT1 to transmit a Standard PocketWizard signal to Profoto AcuteB flashes which have PocketWizard receivers built in. The beauty of HyperSync, which is enabling the faster flash sync, is that it is done by a MiniTT1 on FlexTT5 on camera. The remote receivers can be a FlexTT5, Standard PocketWizard Plus, Plus II or MultiMAX or any flash unit with built-in PocketWizard receiver.

  • @kennethFOB (continued) If you already have Standard PocketWizards, just get a Mini or Flex for your camera and you are in business. If not, you can use a Standard PocketWizard as a receiver for manual flash control. OR better yet, a FlexTT5 and do HyperSync plus get an amazing amount of other benefits when using Canon Flashes and TTL.

  • @pocketwizardvids So i can use my PocketWizards Plus II on my 580 EX II's and buy an MiniTT1 for my camera? And then i can use HyperSync? (And what is the fastest shutter speed that i can use with the setup?)

  • @b0x1nG

    Depends on camera model.

On my 1DS MkII I can get 400th/sec clean and 500th/sec with some slight banding on the bottom, but still good if I know I can get away with a crop of 150pixels (depending on image)

You have to use the PW utility to program the TT1 (via usb) and adjust the hypersync setting for your particular camera. Shoot, check, adjust, shoot, check adjudt etc etc. Until you get to your fastest speed.
