This series inspired me to read the full Count of Monte Cristo, unabridged, and I rarely read. The book is 117 chapters long!! It's good though!!! Worth every page!
Unfortunately, Gankutsuou's music is the only soundtrack he and Kitazato Reiji ever did. These two did stuff like sound design and sound effects on various other anime, but Gankutsuou is the only show they ever actually did music for, together with Jean Jacques Burnel. I'm not even sure if Kasamatsu and Kitazato did any composing or if they just added to Burnel's work. All three are credited with being responsible for the OST however. The end result is breathtaking nonetheless.
Sí, sin duda la mejor canción de cualquier OST pues ningua tiene una mezcla tan buena y sensacionalista de percusionismo, sintetizadores e instrumental. Magnífica!!
Awesome... always reminds me of anytime Albert faced adversity... usually due to the Count having something sinister up his sleve... such an inspirational track... makes me feel like running, striving, fighting to find the truth.. but then, there is the sad realisation at the end, that it is all a dream, and i have woken up back at the beggining, desperate and searching for the truth... and then the music starts again, and so do i... a true masterpiece.
@Faelskax "fighting to find the truth" are you willing to find the truth to the 1 and only God? i just wanted to test your resolve behind the words you use.
Yeah, this song is so awesome, I listen to it every day. Absolutely brilliant. Along with Silent Cruise from the GiTS SAC OST, this is my favourite OST track ever.
Well, I forget the plot details quickly, a few weeks after watching. Thanks to that, I don't link this beautiful song with the series.
It sounds like a burning chariot fighting its way through a desert full of assassins, that failed in the end, and the rider found his peace by dying in the barren sands, disappears in a sandstorm and is forgotten.
Has anyone made a piano arrangement of this song?

The most memorable part for me was the death of Franz.

It took me until episode 12 to really fall in to the show but I love it now, 4 more episodes to go.

Omg, no.. T_T that episode made me cry way too much...
Usually the song reminds me of the separation with the Count and Albert on the Count's ship.
