I have both this and Dark Souls and let me tell you right now although both games are frustrating BUT the rewards are so worth the frustrations, sweat and tears and I really am a big fan of these games

do you want the greatest tip of all time on how to get far in demon's souls. the moment you die, shut off your ps3 in the back. you will start very close to where you almost died and you will have all your souls in tact. i learned this by accident while i was throwing a tantrum at the difficulty of this game. this cheat works every time, but just make sure you shut down your PS3 BEFORE the game over screen.

@Pchencoolguy not done this game, on my first playthrough but am like lvl 250 (i've been duplicating recently) and yeah, one of the best of all times. so far my best part of the game was the FlameLurker, you walk through the fog and are like "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO BEAT THAT?!?!" then you win, you drop your controller and do a little dance yelling "IM THE BEST! IM THE BEST!" =P and the creators really know which music to add to this game >_> even though i've beat 2-X i still walk around shield up.

@DazedAsian "weapons other then swords" short spear, winged spear, halberd, mace, morningstar, hands of god, iron knuckles, club, great club, great axe, cresent axe, battle axe, dozer axe, pickaxe, scraping spear, and i cant remember any more, but with the armour i agree, i've tried like 8 sets of armour (from leather to Ancient King's armour) and i didnt see much of a difference in them, it would be good if they added to that too. mostly in this game its just avoid or die.
@TheRandomHope There's more swords than all the other melee weapon classes put together. I think 40 different kinds of swords and 24ish kinds of axes, fists, hammer, spears, and polearms. Plus swords are the most up gradable type of weapons. Like I said they need to have more weapons other than swords.
My suggestions would be add a war hammer/sledge hammer, a flail/ball and chain weapons, ahlspiess, bill hooks, katar, and godendag. The weird weapons
@DazedAsian yeah, exotic weapons would be cool, i was actualy hoping there would be a whip cause i think it would be fun if you where able to lash the gargoils and drag them out of the sky :) or needing to have NG+ and you can lash the red drag and you get elite items where it drops you or somthing. a flail... those were some bloody brutal weapons and i would like it alot XD my most used weapon at this point (NG+ tower knight killed) is blueblood sword or morning star blessed +5 one word awesome

Depends on your style. I find it challenging, I find the flamelurker (first playthrough) challenging, but easy to kill once you've got him down, while I found King Allant hard as fucking fuck! The reason of this is, that the you can hide from the flamelurker with the thief's ring, and I played as a lightly armored melee thief, so I had no problem there, but at Allant, I got fucking owned for not using appropriate armor and a heavy ass shield. It all depends on your style, mate.
@TheAnonymousSeeker If you don't use bitchin' heavy armor, beating King Allant all comes down to evasion. Which kills you 9/10 times anyways. Played as a lightly armored mage, that way i could still keep some distance, but yeah. I got owned so many times, I can play through 1-4 blindfolded.

@KyleWB1989 basicly you go round fighting bigger stronger demons as you progressthrew it they get harder until it come to some old king guy (sorry its been a while since i played it) wen u defeat him u just go into a big demons mouth and kill the last guy that takes two second and you complete it :)
the story is really basic. some king awoke a really powerful demon and that caused everything to go crazy
you have to kill demons to help the kingdom to go back to normal. the story is not really important because the game itself is really awesome. as long as you can get over the initial difficulty

Only just discovered this game, never heard of it before. My fave rpg games have been likes of Fable and Final Fantasys etc and having read and seen the reviews of this I've now ordered it £13 off play.com brand new. Looking forward to it. One question- is it better than the Dragon Age series???
@69LAKIDAR It's different. Dragon Age has a lot more character development, conversations with NPCs and the like in the typical Bioware style. In Demon's Souls that side of it isn't particularly important, and it has much more involved combat strategy (minus the party management). In my opinion Demon's Souls has better atmosphere than Dragon Age and £13 is a great price. It's one of the best games on the PS3.
I think Demon's souls wins an award for most benevolent creator diety. Or at least it's tied with Christianity. I mean, day 1. Create Humans, give them souls day 2. purposly create an immortal monster that feasts upon souls of humans day 3. ok, i think I'm just about done here. Have at it Hoss.

@Loubacca That being said it makes things a shitload easier if you do some parts before others. E.G getting that narly flame spell before trying to kill the maneaters.

Im totally getting the black phantom edition as soon as it comes out i want the extras like the art book. I'd bet it'll have great images for my art and of course the game will be awesome
