  • y do people put they like these songs more than the ones today and say they are 16. they kno there 42 or somehtin. stop trying to get a thumbs up...

  • I'm 3 and I wuv dis swong

  • hard to wait on your heart

  • I love music like this. I'll state my age like everyone else: I'm 22. Born in March 1990, I missed the gretest decade of all time by only 3 months. I wish I had grown up in the 1980s. I don't belong in 2012

  • @Whisperjet727

    "I don't belong in 2012"

I agree with you, but even if you were born in March 1960 for example instead of 1990, you would still be here now in 2012 right?

  • @Gaznugget Yeah, that's true. I'd end up here regardless. I guess what I was getting at was that I missed the 80's by only a few months, so I never really got to see what I consider the greatest decade ever. Had I been born sooner, I would untimately end up in 2012, but at least I'd get to live through the 1980s. Which I think would have been amazing.

  • @Whisperjet727

I sometimes try to think of the best time to be born. Obviously I'd want to be born in the western world (like the US and UK) but I like to wonder when. The best I think I can come up with (you might like this too) is 1950.

Born 1950, so you miss the depression, war and general hard life (no TVs, fridges, toasters etc) have a 50s childhood, a teenager in the 60s, then be an adult throughout the 70s 80s 90s 2000s and 2010s. And a 50th birthday in the year 2000!

  • @Gaznugget That's a good point. If you had the opportunity to be born in the middle of the 20th century. you would have the chance to experience some of the greatest parts of the century, while still missing the worst. I think the baby boomer generation really had it good.

  • @Whisperjet727 Your'e gonna get old soon enough. The 80s was a cool time to be "an adult" but you will hear em saying " wow i wish i'd been a teen in the 2010s" . You a part of decades that i won't be around for.

  • I think the 1900s decade was bad (Life in general), the 1910s (WW1) 1920s (only good for rich) 1930s (Depression) 1940s (WW2) were bad too. Old people don't reminise about the 30s or 40s, they just say how hard things were and how lucky we are now.

Yet people seem to like looking back at the 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s with nostalgia. Does that mean the 40s was the last awful decade and the 50s is the first "good" decade? And do you think 1950 is good to be born, or should it be sooner/later?

  • @Gaznugget fifties -sixties they ve lived some good times (life in general) fast growing and changing

and it look like times are turning bad again

  • @Whisperjet727

Also I'm a similar age to you and in a way we also missed the 1990s as we were only little kids so it's not the same as being a teenager or adult then. I became a teenager in the 2000s so I consider that time to be the first time I can clearly remember things. Although born in the early 90s I've missed the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s and loads more.

I had a great aunt born 1920 and she died in 1999. She was so lucky. I hated the "noughties" and "tens" now.

  • Everybody's here like: omg im 16 and im listening this :D

  • @jaquawiz08 I don't think this has been in any video-game, though it would be pretty funny to run down pedestrians in 'Grand Theft Auto' to this song.

  • @SkullOfYorick It's in GTA IV; But not the main story; It appears in the DLC "Ballad of Gay Tony". If you ever play, you can hear this song on Vice City FM. Hope that helped.

  • does the beginning of this song not sound like the beginning to a late 80's early 90's family themed sitcom??

  • Thats where you belong, In my arms baby yeah!

    This song is Boss!

  • This song is special to me because it was playing in the background when I was having my son..although lyrics mean different things to different people..waiting for a star to me meant waiting for my star to be born and he belongs in my arms and all the rest..you know how the lyrics go..lol...his nearly 19 now and when I tell him about this song he just cringes..lol

  • My boyfriend lives in England, I live in Florida. We are both 32 and this is our song

  • I still love this song.

  • i feel like i'm at the dentist

  • I love this classic! I wish this rhymed in Spanish. But then again, I'd need the guts to dedicate these lyrics to a lady friend to let her know how I feel without looking desperate. Amazing woman, first I've hung out with since my divorce in January. I've also hung out with others I've met but this Mexicana takes the cake. We talk, both get busy, but it's more complicated than that on why we can't be more than friends right now. But like the song, I try to catch her heart....so hard waiting

@theguyforthat Congrats, man! Once inna lifetime. 'specially in America.

  • OMG! This song came out when i was a kid. I was like 7 years old when this came out. it was a good song then and still is one of the greats! good post!

  • I remember hearing this, maybe for the first time, at the end of "Three Men And A Little Lady." It actually came out in late 1988, but I don't remember hearing it then.

  • Always makes me think of a friend of mine. Not in a romantic way, but it makes us both smile :)

  • AH nostalgia! I can't believe I was 10 years old when this came out

  • One of my fave songs. Reminds me of fall 1988. Songs like this just aren't made anymore. The saxophone was a staple in pop music back then. Just listen to all that instrumentation!!!! Wonderful lyrics, too. I LOVE the bridge starting at 2:47 and I love the way they respond to each other during that bridge. "Don't be too long"......oh, the shivers!!!!!

  • it''s such a lovely song, but i hate it coz my boyfriend posted this song to another girl!!!

  • @TheKarnpitcha he sounds like a complete cunt men can be so insensitive I mean really men so thick with their sticks in their pants

  • I can relate to this song now. I work in a grocerie deli. I been waiting on this one guy for 2 years. I always had a mild crush on him. But I also have had 3 boyfriends in those 2 years. Last one broke up the day before Thankgiving. On NY's eve, the guy I liked came in and we talked a little more than usural, he made it obvious that the feeling is indeed mutual. so I allowed myself to have a bigger crush on him. I am waiting for him to come back so I can give him my number.

  • What a GREAT song! I had forgotten all about it and how much it used to make me smile. Makes me remember the magic of fallin' in love. Thank you, veviska.

  • you don't have to worry about Copyright infringement, after 20 years the copyright expires, which is one of the reasons i love 80's songs!!!

  • loves it 5 stars! ^_^

  • I got a different story. I was so inlove with my first boyfriend in 1988, but we split up that year. After we both had been married, had gotten 2 children each, and devorced, in different cities, we met again two years ago and are now happier than ever living together!!! Old love never dies :-)

  • this song was popular when i first met my wife in 1988. i love it because it perfectly described her then and now. two children and 21 years later i still love her now more than ever.

  • wow, that's truly amazing...you don't really see that anymore nowadays...I can see why you're so proud of it, congrats to you :)
