i love how Matt brings the drum beat back in a 4:25. That would've been great on the album version. Bloc Party is the best band of this point in music's history.

Bold, yes, but have you ever seen them live? Amazing. There aren't very many bands right now with the same songwriting and live performance skills that Bloc Party have. Just my opinion of course, music speaks to us all differently.

@euroguy8080 Months later: I have seen them live. Once in Columbus Ohio and it was one of the best performances I have ever seen. Then I saw them a year later at Lollapalooza 2008 and they were awful. They are one of my favorite bands and Silent Alarm is one of my favorite albums ever, but I would say from my experience they are pretty inconsistent live. I would not say they are "best band of this point in music's history" by any stretch. That being said: This is a great performance.

@sumdrummer I would like to put a caveat on that last part. When I saw them at Lolla they were by no means at the top of their game. They had a fairly dreadful bass player standing in for Gordy and Matt had recently suffered from a collapsed lung. They are excellent live.

They aren't breaking up! They're just taking a break. Who knows for how long though.

Kele's going to work on a solo album, Russell is going to do some more work on his side project Pin Me Down, Gordon is going to spend more time with his wife and child, and Matt isn't sure what he'll do.
