  • how old was he when u took this video?

  • @Zidentify

    A few months.

  • .........YAY!!!!........ its a male.......

  • i got one a couple of days ago, looks loike that one. :) how big is the tank?

  • @dexOn22

    5 gallon.

  • My betta is a male and his body went from blue to black in like a day now he is less active and he will not even try to attack his female companion i dont try for them to fight i take one out if they start and she is bullying him now cause i think he is sick any one have any ideas i have a video of them on here

  • @Bettaowner2011 ....... then ur betta is sick

  • piękny bojownik.

  • Lovely; I'm getting my 1st Crowntail in approximately 4 hours time =P

You should get some media in that tank though mate; beneficial for the fish and the tank =/

  • He's beautiful! I am hoping to get one this colour this week.

  • I have a very tamed Betta named, Mr.Satan, hes evil

  • looks like mine too. i got him at meijer for 5 bucks :))

  • looks like mine that i got yesterday :D

  • :D that fish looks just like mine!! his name is destery!

  • @Twonder1000

    Nice!

  • he looks like mine

  • almost exactly like mine except for the colour on the head

  • I have one like ur crown tail but mine is white, red, purple, dark blue, light blue and black

  • bettacare101. com

  • crowntails are pretty, a long time ago i had 2 halfmoons but now i have 2 of these and they look so kwl when they flare up

  • wow hes beautiful mines blue and green

  • You should get som gravel? It's like taking a dump on the floor. Easier to clean with som sand or gravel

  • Gravel makes the maintenance much more difficult. And parasites and bacteria live in the gravel so fish can get sick more often when there's gravel.

  • @dfernandez77 i researched good bacteria grow in the gravel with prevent diseases..haha

love your fish by the way :D

  • Yes, good and bad both do. :)

I prefer easier cleanup. Just a preference.

  • @dfernandez77 You could always get a ghost shrimp or 2 :P They take up like no space, eat algae and are like completely community... i think :P

  • @tempubuntu ya... i dont understand how its ezier 2 clean with gravel?i mean u hav 2 get under there and stuff 2 get the poop out

  • Instead of all the flakes/food and the fishes waste swirling around in the water, and cloging the pump its better to have sand or gravel. The betta seems to be doing better with some place to rest and feel safe. When someone get to a higher level of keeping fish they tend to mirror its original habitat.

  • @tempubuntu mayb but how r u suppsoed 2 clean the water? drain all the sand out? and the bettas u buy at stores probly hav never seen an "original" habitat b4 cuz they were breed by ppl. but ya dont the sand swirl in the tank when u net thigns out? and dont u hav 2 pick the poop out when ur cleaning tank? i mean thats wasted sand really

  • hm... i jsut realized my first betta was a crowntail i just thought his fins were messed up. his face and gills r black and turns in2 a dark blue and lighter blues as u go down his body. but ya hopefully my betta will look as beautiful and as big as urs mines looks a bit small and hes a punk lol

  • I like bettas with a punk attitude. This one was a little boring. Pretty though.

  • @lordzero545 lol nvm guys my betta isnt a crowntail his fins r really messed up lol

  • i got one like that today

  • He's beautiful! I just got a crowntail a couple weeks ago and he's almost identical coloring to yours.

  • i just bought a crowntail and why doesnt it move alot i just got it today is it in shock? please help me

  • I think you should search google for a Beta forum and ask for help there.

  • how much gallons in the tank

  • 5 gallons

  • mines 10 gallons he's in with two plecos he doesn't actualy fight you shoul try it

  • wow my betta looks exactly like yours

    same colur and everything :D

  • i think its just in new surroundings.. if ur water is cold that might be why... wut size bowl do you have him in and wuts in it?

  • How do you get a fish like this cause all the pet stores ive gone to its always that one betta. Not as big fins but still medioker. I guess the common one.

  • Found him hiding at a pet store.

  • mine too

  • Usually you have to go to a smaller store, not petsmart or petco. Though our petsmart says they have crowntail, also when they are young they don't look like this, their fins are not as long yet. So if its a young Betta he hasn't matured into his fins. :)

  • i just bought a crowntail betta too and its black red blue baby blue kind of and its name is dorthy or dorky

  • i have a crown tail to it look like a velvet cake so i called it velvet and the body has scales that are sparky blue?? it weird.

  • i just bought a crowntail today! purple body yellow tail hes amazing! i got him around 5 and i just decided his name crown

  • do you know if you can put a betta, goldfish and an algea eater together in a tank?

  • What kind of algae eater? What kind of goldfish?

  • betta can easily live with an algea eater (pleco) aslong as tank is big enough. and i know bettas can live in tank with no heater and survive on warm room temp. but i really wouldnt but a betta with a goldfish they just wouldnt be happy, and at some point they would kick off

  • ok thanks....do plecos need heated water?

  • No, but bettas do.

  • you can put a pleco with your betta, if you have one. and thats not a comment

  • amazing. beautiful crowntail. should've made him flare, that would've been so breathtaking. i love the colour nonetheless! (:

  • I have one that looks exactly like this, I've had him for 5 months now and recently got him a 10 gallon tank with a sponge filter and corys. I also have a 20 gallon that houses 2 female crowntails and a half giant plakat. They chase each other but theres enough hiding spots for them.

  • Damn, watching this video just makes me soooo sad =( While ago, i just bought a beautiful betta JUST like that one... exactly the same dark face .. almost like a chinese like face... but he was younger than yours... He died like 2 days after, for aparantly no explainable reason ='( GOdfuckingdfamnit i miss him

  • There might have been a few reasons first of all it could have been stressed out after shipment because you said it was smaller. or the tank was brand new and didn't go through the carbon cycle

if you want to learn more about bettas go to

    bettafishcare.(tk) remove paranthesis

  • Naaa that's exactly why i got so pissed off, because i already had 2 bettas on this tank.. along with some other 4 fishes that are completly in love with (Alive) betta... THe poor one came to much better life and then he dies.. sometimes better gets worse i guess XD thanks for the reply man.. have a nice day

  • hope you have a nice day too

  • mine looks exactly like that. except the blue is a dark purple colour, and the body it allmost black. x x

  • aww mine looked like tht almost but it was purplish. im so sad cause i just cleaned hid tank and i think after 5 mins he died =[

  • That's sad. Sorry 'bout that. What happened - was there soap in it or something?

  • noo, i just used room temp water, and idk. 5 mins later it stopped moving =[ i flushed him yesterday D'x.... but i think ima get a new one soon

  • did you put a liquid that took out the chlorine in the tap water?

  • you cant use tap water, it kills them, goto walmart thay have gallons of spring water for like 70 cent to a dollar.. or buy something that takes the chlorine out of the water

  • Fair enough, but a bigger bowl would be more ideal, but owell. Do you have any other fish?

  • where do u get these fish

  • You mean the Bettas?

    One from a breeder.

One from a lucky find at Petsmart.

  • i have a red crowntail betta

  • me2 :D

  • pretty fishie, i have a similar one, only it as more red, lovley big tank, mabey put some gravel in there, it would look nice!

  • :)

I have a nanofilter, so not enough circulation to keep gravel sanitary.

  • BUt i thought you just clean the gravel once every week with a syphon? that would keep it clean, you should get some halfmoon bettas, they are awsome!

  • A gravel vac never gets everything. But the choice is personal. I have goldfish in a bare bottom tank too

  • Oh ok, yer it doesnt get everything that is on the bottom, but gravel looks nice though, a bare bottom tank is fine too. So you only have 2 bettas at the moment, are you going to get any more? You should get a halfmoon.

  • I have

    one betta names KA-BLAM!

    one Ranchu named Tinko

    one Oranda named Charlie

    one Ryukin named Ferrero Rocher

    one Clown Pleco named Bozo

    and one un-named Bristlenose Pleco

I think I should name the Bristlenose Pleco "Bluto" after Popeye's nemesis, the big bearded guy.

  • just so u know, bettas dont like the space!

  • What do you mean? Bettas natural habitat although it may be shallow, can be many square miles large!!!!! They need at least 2 gallons.

  • ! te dont need more than 2 litres:P the guy i bought mine from said so!

  • LOL well he must be right then....T.T dont believe everything people tell you, if you ACTUALLY research bettas natural habitat, you wont be saying things that are stupid.

  • i have a 2 litre bowl and mine seems happy:P

but who cares i wount fight because of a fish lol!

  • So beautiful! I love how crowntail bettas swim!

  • it looksd like mine ;]

    is a 2.5 gallon enough

    /

  • 2.5 gallon is plenty.

  • Bloodworms and brine shrimp

  • hey i was wondrin what trats you give him like blood worms?

  • bloodworms. brine shrimp. krill. baby seals.

    Well, not really baby seals.

    :p
