Na it's more like HE likes the coach a lot. The coach knows how to handle him. Zidan is a very difficult personality. that is probably the reason he hasn't got more succes for the big teams in the Bundesliga

He gets a fair share of playing time. of course i don't count match starts or anything. I'm sure you can find a website that have line-ups from the league. Dortmund's official site most likely
