dude if you ask me, that would so not be worth it. i'm sure it could be done, but it would be a HUGE project which would involve lots of welding and chopping your frame, and not to mention a chunk of cash (to buy a rear end from a tri-moto 225 or newer moto4 200, the shocks, a-arms, and much more). i have an 85 like you as well as my 89 and trust me, it would be a huge project. but if you want a project, fine it's your choice, but i would just get a new quad.
thanks! lol i look back on some of my old ones like this and i'm like wow i make way better vids now! that's good though if you ask me cause it means i'm learning from my many past mistakes lol
not really. lol i actually bought moto4 225/250 shocks for my 200 to make the suspension better, but that's about all you can do other than looking into chinese atv shocks which idk if i trust...it's hard to find other shocks cause moto4 shocks are so short. maybe older yamaha big bear shocks would fit but that's a heavier quad so unless you're jumping, don't use those. i'm not familiar with 250 rear shocks so i'm not sure what you could do with that
part 2: i had thought about chopping my frame and putting the front end of a sport quad on the front instead, but moto4 200s, 250s, and 350's are fairly rare and getting rarer all the time so i didn't do that and i don't suggest it unless you really don't care about that and just want to have a nice ride, but you'd be giving up the rare and in decent shape factor
dude yeah i'll check that out it's always awesome to find someone with moto-4 200 videos cause there aren't that many out there right now i seriously have probably a third of all the moto-4 200 videos on youtube. and when you search moto-4 200 you find retards who call their blasters or some other quad a moto-4.
i have a 89 moto 4 i have crashed it many timees and rooled it to many times to count and it stll rounds great i can do weelies on it as if it was brannew i love rind it on ice and mud and stuff like that i paded 500 for it i want a 700 raptor does any one know anyone with one for sale
the people who had my moto-4 before me had a really bad crash with it. I don't know exactly what happened, but it broke that one side on my front fender (you can probably see the busted fender in this vid) and it pushed one wheel back a little and made it wobble when you ride it. We wouldn't have paid as much as we did for it if we had noticed the damage sooner.
great for what it's worth! Try to put a twist on your videos that makes them more unique, entertaining or funny, not that I'm having any luck with that.

Nice, i just got one today for $100 bucks that im going to restore, cant wait to hit the trails
maxxterrain 3 years ago
COOL! Moto-4s are great restoration projects and overall great quads! what's wrong with it?
PowerRider16 3 years ago
is this the 250cc or 350cc
atving4me 3 years ago
It's the 200. Yamaha made 6 moto-4 types: the 80, 100, 200, 225, 250, and 350.
PowerRider16 3 years ago
kool, my friend has the 350cc, i though they only made 250cc and 350cc
atving4me 3 years ago
oh cool thanks
mxroxz 3 years ago
so does it have a clutch lever
mxroxz 3 years ago
no just the shift lever by your foot
PowerRider16 3 years ago
does this quad have a clutch
mxroxz 3 years ago
no it's a hydrostatic transmission-automatic clutch but the rider has to shift it

is it a 2X4 or 4X4?
codi79 3 years ago
it's 2 wheel drive. by the way now that we got new tires on it, it actually gets pretty amazing traction.
PowerRider16 3 years ago
2X4 us more fun anyways :)
codi79 3 years ago
yeah! you get to spin your tires more!
PowerRider16 3 years ago
They are the best bang for the buck, its not worth sellin them, they are too much fun for what you could get for them.
woodyoutwo 3 years ago
I'm gonna get a better quad, but I'm never selling the moto-4, it's too good of a machine and like you said it's too fun to sell!

I grew up on a red 86 moto 4. That thing was great I probably spent most of my summers on it as a kid. Good luck with it.
matt2496 4 years ago
thanks. I really like the moto-4. Not fast or super sporty, but really fun!
PowerRider16 4 years ago
moto-4's are great ATV's for the small amount you pay for one.
gunnut6 4 years ago
I paid 745 for mine
