  • beat it!!!!! beat it ohhhh hahahaha XD

  • use oyster sauce for this, it's really good and adds lots of flavor!! :)

  • i tried this recipe today , instead of sugar i added oyster sauce in the tomatoes , in 5 mints ...nothing left on the plate ..my husband and my daughter loved it so much ..thanks for your recipe

  • Comment removed

  • that looks good with some tortillas and frijoles haha i gotta try that!

  • 1:1 ratio is pretty damn precise my friend, lol, great recipe thanks

  • Still nothing traditionally Chinese about egg fried with tomato - shuai Jiao (dumplings) / Gom Bao Ji Ding / Dou Ban Yu / Beijing Kao Ya ... yes, all traditional. Egg fried with tomato is as traditionally Chinese as it is Israeli or Italian.

  • @4fabian not strictly traditional but it is a popular dish in china and other asian countries.

  • I like adding some cream and cheesy

just to make it more creamy :D

  • damn!

    I thought I invented it

    wuhaha

  • 6 minutes is a bit too long - e.g. we don't need to see how to break and whisk eggs, chop tomatoes.

    Good video though!

  • thank YOU for sharing :-)

  • the knife is too sharp..

    lol..

i'm going to try this recipe..

    thanks for sharing..

  • Thank you very much for this wonderful part ;)

  • @kinein can you put a little Seasame oil in this dish too? And what kind of noodles would be good if I wanted to do that instead of steamed rice? Thank you.

  • wait is it tsp or tbsp for the sugar...

  • This is what i had for breakfast., amazingly good!!

  • That's a beautiful stove. My mom love those kind of stove that provides enough heat for the wok, and it makes the flavor of the foods soo much more delicious!

  • im so hungry right now

  • This was my favorite dish when I visited China. Thanks so much for teaching me how to make!

  • هذا نسميه شكشوكه

    its shakshokah 3>

  • I love this accent!

  • though i live in china your videos are still fun to watch! the dishes do traditional. i like the way people like our dishes in other countries. keep up your good work. :)

  • My mama also make that :D! I ate that today!

  • Hi @kinein ... thanks for the reply. I remember when I first came to Taipei in 1989 and most kids thought that Pizza was a Taiwanese dish because they hadn't been taught otherwise - but that doesn't make it so. I accept all of your other comments about America and Chinese sub-groups, but that doesn't make egg fried with tomato a traditional Chinese dish any more than it makes pizza a traditional Taiwanese dish.

  • I think what gives authenticity to a tradition is maybe being the first to make a claim to something, or perhaps inventing a tradition, or being the only place to follow a tradition. Egg fried with tomato fills none of these criteria. Just because people make egg fried rice in the UK, doesn't make it a traditional British dish, even if they have been doing so since the 19th century.

  • Fantastic tomato egg recipe :) This is REAL chinese food in my opinion. Basic dish ~ other egg dishes use shrimp and others use green onions as well beat into the eggs. :) I hope you are still making videos Yeqiang!!!!

  • my right ear is lonely...

  • @weijie63 lol

  • @weijie63 lol i didn't realize this until i put in the headphone in o.O i wonder why i can only hear it on my left

  • I add green onion, yum!

  • @bravergirl green onion variation is good too :))

  • is this good on rice or with toast? feels like it should have someting else for contrast. also i think mushrooms would be good in there

  • @jeffbriggs1987 Usually served atop steamed white rice.

  • @jeffbriggs1987 most chinese dishes are meant to go on top of rice or with rice.. The basic staple of east asian cuisine is a bowl of steamed rice ~ and some toppings to go with it.In the country-side -you'd have a very simple vegetable dish or two maybe pickled - and if your lucky, a little bit of real meat.

  • Whatz the hurry baby??

  • my egg fried tomatoe is a bit dryer!

  • Very delicious! Love this video!!

  • It is easy to make and such a quick fix after a long working day. I make it a few times a month :-)

  • It is NOT a traditional Chinese dish! Tomatoes were first imported into Europe from South America in the 17th century, after which they went to China. That means a total of a maximum of 200 years having tomatoes in China. What happened to 5000 years of Chinese culture?

  • @4fabian 200 years is good enough for me ~ look at how long America has existed. Just beacuse it hasn't been around for 5000 years doesn't mean burgers and fries aren't traditional american cuisine. Similarly kim-chi from korea ~ was not realized til later in history when korea discovered cabbage and chilis through trade. This is A TRADITIONAL CHINESE dish. China is an amalgamation of wars, hundreds of kingdoms , lost histories, lost philosophies, art, heros and survivors.

  • @4fabian Though bear in mind there are roughly 50+ distinctive groups within "chinese culture" and 100s of SUB-groups. All with its own nuances, cuisines, dishes, flavors etc. It is hard to definitively say what is or is not - without grasping it from a objective lens w/ respect to regional and local cultures within the macro-segmented viewpoint of history. Just thought I'd add to your knowledge-base; student of east-asian history, and familiar with many different subcultures in china/asia

  • Yea.. sure she is terrible at measuring.. look at the amount of sugar she add at the (3:50)...

  • she is terrible at measuring....

  • dang, I wish I was that good with knives!

    so quick and graceful!

  • im jealous of your wok set up

  • I'm going to give this a go, I always had this at the school I worked at in China. Will gladly look at some of your other videos in the future.

  • three tomato here and three X here

  • love her accent tomaeto egge

seriously, she put too much oil!!!

  • I made this for dinner omg so good

  • That is one big wok,

and the sound of the stove is like an engine,

is she cooking in a restaurant?

  • love her accent

  • I miss eating this while I was in China :(

  • you made me cry ...... i missed this food sooooooooooo much ... and i missed the days when i was in shanghai (china ) .... for 2 yrs this is my breakfast .... OMG i love this ... thank you for sharing the recipe .... now i feel

like im back in china wherever i may go with this food ... thanks a lot !!!! 2THUMBS UP

  • my left ear loves this video.

  • You are georgeous. Thank you, very interesting.

  • thank you so much. I made it for my family here in holland

  • chicken powder is not healthy

  • @iguanamarie lol...so you consider all other aspects of this healthy? Or are you just a whore?

  • @SuperBookMonkey i'm just saying, in a way, that chicken powder is a fake-ass flavored chemical. and if by 'whore' you mean 'bitch', then yes, i'm bitching.

  • too much oil..

  • @kk331130 Too much complaining.......

  • thank you for making this video, I still watch it right before making this dish!

  • Every expat or student in China is fairly familiar with this meal - its often the only one one acceptable for the european/western taste, especially before you learn how to order things non-spicy and without bones :-)

  • just top it off with some green onions when you're done. thats the way we do it at home :P

  • I like her pots :)

  • I feel strange when I hear the word "tomato" in this video, but it's cute!! lol

  • I lived in a small city in China and this was my go-to dish at my favorite restaurant. You're right! It's so delicious, simple, and inexpensive. I don't know why it hasn't ever appeared on a Chinese restaurant menu here. I tried making it stateside and it came out pretty bad. Thanks for explaining it so well--I hope it works for me!

  • fancy dick 5:40

  • @thenoobzors She says dish, dude.

  • I've tried 90% of your recipes and all of them are very well described and very delicios. Please keep sharing your skills and recipes. Thank you for everything.

  • how much oil!!! fookin hell

  • BEAT IT BEAT IT BEAT IT BEAT IT GOTTA BEAT AND BEAT!

  • is it 1 litr oil or just 2 tbl spoon oil

  • This is like the most classic and simple Chinese dish there is! Great job!

  • I just tried out the dish. It tastes terrific! Although I'm a Singaporean Chinese, my mom didn't teach me this dish. Thank you very much for sharing this authentic dish :)

  • My Chinese roommate made this for dinner the first night that he moved in. It was really good. I was completely surprised 'cause I never thought of that as being traditional Chinese.

  • 2:38: "spaturure"

  • when i went to china last year to each english this dish was mine and everyone in my group fav to eat

  • 5:40

    over

    and over

  • Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing with us!!

  • yummy and simple....and very easy, that is very helpful.

  • The chef, she is very enthusiastic in her cooking show. That is very much commendable. I like her cooking techniques. However one thing we have to note is that she has got a stove which is very similar to what we have in small restaurants. Thus the heat generated is really good. Just an observation :-) Enjoy cooking and eating! Peaceout!

  • I ate this dish when I was very little you never get tired of it :) always watching my parents or grandparents make it good times

  • YUM!!

  • funny how you say they do it at school

  • looks yummy

  • she made me cummmm

  • Bland?? Try this version.....1) Use free ranch chicken eggs...taste a lot better. 2) Tomatos in HK/China taste bland. Try using Italian tomatos that comes in a can !! those meant for paste sauce taste a lot better.3) Season with Kosher salt and 2-3 spoons of clover honey. Guys, life will never be the same.....

  • @dloo675289 Hi! I'm in Canada and we have a variety of tomatoes. That's a good idea - I'll try using other types of tomatoes. I think that's what it lacked - the tomato taste. Thanks for the advice! :)

  • I spent my early childhood in Hong Kong and I've never heard of this dish so I was excited to try it. It tasted kind of bland. :( I followed the instructions as closely as I could, although I omitted the optional chicken powder and used much less oil. Could that be why mine turned out rather tasteless? I also had it with plain rice which might have watered down the taste even more. :P Anyway, thank you for the video! :D I'll most likely keep trying to make this until I get it right! XD

  • @Munchiichii I think just add more seasoning - play around with it until it suits your taste. I grew up with this dish and it differs according to who makes it. My mum makes it differently to yeqiang and my dad makes it his own way too. ^_^ Have fun!

  • @Moontess Hi! Thanks for your reply! :D In my second attempt, I put some dashi into the eggs and added garlic and onion powder into the tomatoes. It tastes better now. :D

  • @Munchiichii That's great ^_^ I personally like to put ketchup in - but according to my mum that's 'cheating'. Haha...

  • @Moontess LOL I love ketchup on scrambled eggs! This seems like a more healthy version. XD

  • Xie Xie! This was my favorite dish when I was living in China :) I think you can add garlic or green onions if you want to get wild...

  • this doesnt taste good. its just fill your stomach type of dish. cause its easy to prepare and cook. thats why she said student loves it. better than pan cakes though. i cant stand pies and pancakes. they make me wanna through up. too sweet.

  • OMG! Her 2 table spoon of oil seems more like a cup of oil. O.o

  • @doodoondoodoon she used a big spoon probably..?

  • this is a traditional dish for breakfast in Afghanistan also, but we do slightly different. We cook the tomatoes first for about 7-10 minutes or until almost dry in oil, add some salt to the tomatoes about 6-9 minutes into cooking, then add the eggs, about 1 1/2 tomatoes per 2 eggs, then add some chilli for flavour and serve with green tea and bread. :)

  • she talks like my grandmother.

  • ehec tomado

  • i love this dish because it taste very good, and the simplicity of it.... as far as traditional chinese dish is concerned, the tradition for this dish only started after the spanish and the portuguese got back from south american continent, and started introducing food / plants from that continent to the whole world, and tomatoes were included.... similarly, the "traditional thai food" only started when those white people introduce chillies to the far-east of asia....

  • Hey Ye Qiang, thanks for uploading alot of Chinese dishes. Growing up Chinese in America, its quite hard sometimes to remember everything about Chinese cooking and culture. It is very much appreciated.

  • Hello , You have a great channel your videos are informative and you are so nice. What is the traditional Chinese wok ? the one you are using is non stick? is this safe? Is it used in China alot? What kind would you suggest ?

  • @jjooeegg1 usually the eggs wont stick as long as u have enough oil in there, non stick wok is optional and yes it is used in china a lot...and safe i guess

  • ahhhh, thats where i always go wrong, i dont let the egg cook enough before i start stirring it and add the tomato. I always end up with something that looks like meat paste. I love egg and tomato, definately one of my favourite dishes, thanks for posting this video.

  • wohhoo i like you, you always smiling:),and it's really really captivating..haha

  • Mmm, this is what I grew up with :) My mom always added more egg because us sibs fight over the eggs! Still do! XD

  • I wish everyone in the world was this happy :)

  • @BrightDigitalProduct welcome to asia!

  • woo this is good but i'm not using too much oil when cooking i don't like it

  • I love this dish, this is my favorite way back when I was in Taiwan. Love it!

  • I ate it everyday when I was a student in Chengdu...yummy

  • its healthy only if u cut back on the oil, and sugar. Wayyy too much condiments.

  • @sw33tk1w1 Oil and sugar are not unhealthy, it is eating TOO much of them that is. If you eat different foods in moderation you should be able to enjoy just about anything.

  • the pan is so huge o.o

  • where do you get that pan?

  • there are many ways to cook eggs n tomato but this is my fav too. haha also the first dish I learnt. I wouldnt put so much salt tho..

  • That is very good and easy to do I think. This I will try in the morning. Great video.

  • Wow. This brings me back to my time in Beijing. The entire week I was there, the hotel gave us this for breakfast with side dishes, milk and congee. I tried to recreate it when I came back and now I can do it properly. 很多谢!!!!!

  • Like many of the previous posters, I am so happy to find this recipe! Our housekeeper made this for us when we were in China in 2008. Amazing! I think she added celery or some green as well. She also made this wonderful cinnamon chicken - would love to find that recipe too!

  • I made this. What I love about it is you can eat this for any meal of the day, not just for breakfast. It's an acquired taste though but I really like it!

  • i agree with her.. this is such an easy dish..

me and other chinese students always make it

  • greetz from Germany

  • I have tried this dish. The person preparing it added some rice vinegar. It tasted good but the texture was a bit too watery for my liking and the taste with the rice did not seem to fit for my palate.
