The story is kind of sad (specially for the mother) at the end and cruel, but the movie is super sensual and sexual. Actually the scenes of them having sex will turn you on...although she's much older than him, she has a nice body for her age! I'd do her. I lost my virginity to a divorced w/3 kids secretary I used to work with in College who was 49 and I was 20! We kept on having sex for the next 13 years!...believe it or not. That makes her 62 when we last had sex!

I remember flipping thru HBO one day and catching this and getting so turned on I had to pull it out and jack it. I also remember laughing my ass off in the scene where the old hag is having sex with an old man she recently started dating(after james bond had starting boning her old ass already) and the expressions on her face as this old,fat,bald man, with man tits was on top of her....utter disgust.lol I guess it wasnt as good. lmao

I thought it would be horrible before I watched it, but, and it sounds crazy to say this, but its actually very sexual. Despite the fact that the age gap is soo vast. I found it quite hot the way that he could satisfy her, and the fact that it was so obvious she hadnt felt that kind of passion before. It'd never work as a relationship, cos I cant think that he'd ever actually fancy her. Dont see the point for him, apart from that it rewards his ego to be able to satisfy women.

Kind of hard to watch, but it's worth it. Very compelling movie with some very good performances by Anne Reid and Daniel Craig. I thought Anne Reid should have gotten an Oscar nomination for this.

@shadowman2192 Well, I found it one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen. That poor, aging woman with the death of her husband and her awful daughter-in-law with the bratty children and her incredibly screwed up daughter. And she embarks on an affair with her daughter's lover, who is sexy in a way, but also a creep. I just found it all very sad and depressing.

Apologies, but I could really see a Ricky Gervais send up of The Mother.

That being said, it seems Craig's work pre-007 was more varied in character and overall interesting than his post-007 career.

uh..at first the movie quite bothered me but afterwards I wanted to see it again so I said up until three and did, I can grasp a bit but it's still odd that darren would see the mother that way, uh, I didn't like the grandpa scene, and what he did despite her telling him not to. all in all, it was decent.

when i first saw this movie i thought it was utterly disturbing. but i couldnt help but want to watch it again, and when i did, i realised how sad it all is. its just a great movie, and im disappointed that it didnt get a bigger wrap.

i sasw this movie. it was very very good. love scenes between the mother and daniel craig were so real, i felt sorry for her in the end. the part where she tells him that she thought no one would ever touch her again was so true for someone her age and alone. beautiful movie.

Thanks for posting this. It looks interesting enough to try to rent a copy, though I'm not sure it's been released in America. Not a DC fan, but don't deny his acting ability.
