  • 3:16 onward seriously good sax solo

  • That is not Brian Johnson. It is Mark Mann. He has played on many of Georges albums. Sam Brown is alive and well in the UK and has just released a new CD

  • sam brown has awesome pipes

  • Clapton & Brian Johnson!

  • It sucks that they didn't include this on the CD. This was certainly better than that god-awful version of "Wah-Wah" that closed the show.

  • don't knock the WAH WAH !!!!!!!!!

  • No, "Wah-Wah" is a great song and everything, but at Concert for George, it seemed rushed and not well rehearsed.

  • sings her socks offfffffff

  • wtf...is this ac d c brian johnson singer at the back playng guitar???

  • A M A Z I N G !LOVE IT!

  • sam brown,what a great voice.

  • Let's hear the evils of fornication ... amen sista ... !!!!

  • I've been in love with her since the first time I saw her in the 80's!! She's the absolute greatest. XxX

  • '*----------------*

    i love this song s2'

  • A bluesy evergreen which will never fade away in the house of the rising sun.

  • Oh and...keep jumping Sam, jump girl jump :p

  • I said 'Hey man let's go get some wisdom, first he turned on me then he turned on his nervous system'

    Love this song.

  • What an awesome talent. AND THEY DIDN'T PUT IT IN THE CD! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

  • drives me CRAZY!!!

  • they didn't?! what a shame. this is absolutely wonderfull.

  • You can buy the DVD of the whole concert. A double disc set. !!!

  • It's a crime! They could have left off some of the Indian stuff too, and I normally enjoy a little sitar music...

Does she do any more music like this (bluesy, hard-hitting)??

  • Absolutely a great performance by a talented and beautiful lady.

  • She pours her guts out on the stage for this song! LOVE IT!

  • she is amazing

  • I just saw that Jim Capaldi died in 05....another one bites the dust :-(

  • Its her backstage pass.

  • Music is a universal language without race religion, creed, gender, nationality or geographical boundry. The comments posted about yanks, britts, etc. are immature and ignorant.

  • Does anyone notice a tag on her dress?

  • Ya, I see it. On the back in the middle. Strange. Must be something else. Ripped underwear? A hallucination from satan? Oh no, oh no, oh no.

  • witty

  • hahahlol

  • It's her backstage pass. Looks like she tied to her dress. If you look at 5:00, it looks very similar to one and really dangles from her waist while a store tag would be very close to it.

  • impresionante Sam Brown, que intensidad.

  • Fantastic! - I'll drink that water.....if you take me there, Sammie!

  • One has to remember who Pink Floyd had as backing singers. I think PP Arnold was one of the others. I think Candy Dulfer does the sax solo. Sam Brown was a known artist in her own right (if nothing else for being Joe Brown's daughter) before she sang backup for Floyd.

She certainly makes this song her own, so to speak! It's just one of many fantastic performances in the Concert for George.

  • We ain't got time for that , first you must hear the evils of fornication ....

  • I keep waiting for her left one to pop out...

  • werent we all?

  • I keep waiting for Tessa Niles to strip off, neither one will happen..shame!

  • excellent performance, from the backing singer of pinkfloyd.

  • away from all the crap i read, She is a perfect singer with stunning performance.... Egyptian point of view....

  • eric clapton introduces jools holland, sam brown and jim capaldi...

holy crap - sam brown just is - such pipes - top sax solo too - top notch - rock on

  • Well, Sam Brown's not American, you doff. She's British. And Harrison's music was heavily influenced by American blues and Elvis, or perhaps you are forgetting his early work with the Beatles. In fact, Harrison's wife, Olivia, is American, so he was OK with "letting yanks do" him. Also, British colonialism wasn't exactly a tea party for India and the Middle East, so spare us your Western European judgment. Let's all try not to log on while drunk on piss-warm beer, OK?

  • your diatribe proves one thing. you fucking US rednecks are all disgusting cunts.

  • Hey rfleur - don't worry about this idiot. He's likely the same kind of Brit that throws FULL bottles of beer at the futbol referee. There's no talking sense to him.

  • We must have missed you when we were "murdering children everywhere". Our bad!

My apologies to everyone else - I don't think George would approve of our rude talk and behavior. Peace.

  • You are calling someone else disgusting?

  • yeah, yo! you mumma, and yo dog

  • fookin daft this aint on the cd that came out, its a stunning performance

  • SO BRILLIANT ! Just watched it again (first time in 3 months) .. had to get my fix ... there ain't nobody like Sam Brown .. she's like the gospel bands I work with here ... she knows the truth ... any of you other pretenders wanna open your mouth in the spirit of this clip ... of course not !!! CHEERS SAM !!

  • Love it,love it. Love the DVD and wish this was on the CD.

  • Who wrote the song

  • George Harrison. This is from the "Concert for George" DVD.

  • Actually, the song was cowritten by George and his son, Dhani. This is the last song actually written and recorded by George (on a Jools Holland album). A curious bit of trivia is that the first written/recorded of George's songs was also co-written - with a fellow by the name of John Lennon ("Cry for a Shadow").

  • Does anyone know who the guy singing "Oh No" at 3:08 (behind Slow Hand) is ???

Why was this track left off the CD - its one of the best on the whole vid !! She is rather comely - eh what !! ??

  • Andy Fairweather Low. He played with Clapton for over a decade.

  • Cool.

    She horny lady.

  • Who is the amazing saxophone player? He plays straight to my heart man. Sam brown is gorgeus!

  • Sax player is Tom Scott. He used to be leader of The L.A. Express back in the 70's. He's been around for years. You've heard his sax in a lot of themes for T.V. shows. Look him up here on YouTube for some great music.

  • I'd like to think one of those lovely ladies threw young Dhani a shot .....in memory of George of course

  • that was so good!!!!!!

  • Sam Brown, you´re no 1 *****

  • I love Sam Brown - this an amazing performance - she's always great with Jools :)

  • boo yeah!

  • we should do it to this - in honour of George :)

  • But what do we do for the last 5 minutes and 20 seconds?

  • Iron Man practice?

  • we will get the extended version

  • You already got that baby - it's massive

  • I love this performance. Spot on great. Love ya Sam.

  • Dear Sam, what a voice - you are fantastic! - George would have loved you

  • Brilliant performance. Great singer.

  • No me canso de ver la fuerza que hay en esta interpretacion!

  • Me either. Awesome version.

  • Thank God!!!!!

  • The sax solo rules.....

  • yes indeed, he looks like a geography teacher but he can play! now I regret giving up playing the alto sax!

  • More like Bernard Cribbins, I think. ;-)

  • so that's what he did after Jackanory...good career move! :-D

  • what a great talent - and to think I found this by chance - wow - I luv you Sam - keep on singing

  • You go girl!!!!!

  • I was at the show that night. She pretty much stole the show! I really want it on CD, too. Damn shame they put on other acts and cut JUST this one!!!

  • i got it from the mule, CD 2, is the first song...
