  • This was between Dec '90 and Feb '91 - in the first few months of Taker's career (since he is managed by Brother Love, not Paul Bearer), that's why Tugboat gets more cheers since he is the face and Taker the heel. Moreover Taker was meant to strike awe and speechlessness, as he did from the fans. Of course Taker had to win, he was a phenomenal big man being billed undefeated, to challenge Warrior and Hogan. Now Tugboat won't be even 5% of the star that Taker became later.

  • Fucking love old school Undertaker

  • Back when Taker was on the "roids".

  • Funny how the crowd gave no response when Taker came out, but TB gt a huge pop. Nowadays, the reverse would be true. Taker's still going strong after twenty-one years. Wow.

  • That was quite the innovative... botch coverup

  • Didn't tugboat become typhoon and team up with earthquake and become the natural disasters

  • @smokin4dubs Yes indeed. He was Tugboat first though. This guy was one of my earliest memories of pro wrestling as Tugboat.

  • you no what makes this match good? The Nexus, John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Shamaeus, Triple H, nor Batista are involved. You wanna know what else makes this good? neither TNA nor WCW is producing it. You wanna know what else makes this match good? neither Michael Cole, Jim Ross, nor Mike Tenay are calling it. And last but not least, you know what else makes it good? The good solid technical wrestling on display.

  • @ECWnWWF I agree with all of that except the bit about Jim Ross.

    But that's your opinion.

  • @ECWnWWF are you watching the same match as me? this match is rotten.

  • Tugboat can't slam 150 pounds... Undertaker does a diving ropewalk elbow drop... What is happening here?

  • @KingSygma

    :)

Early days of the Undertaker - as you can see by his hairdo. The sit up after being dropped down wasn't there yet either.

Tugboat had to seem worn down, so people would believe Undie could win and you can't really expect him lifting up those massive 400+lbs in a piledriver/tombstone - so the dive was a compensation for the rope walk and jumping down on man's back - he walked the rope again.

    Hope that explains it.

  • Fuckboat^^

  • @MusicWeltenSchmerz Pitiful, profane comment.

  • why oh why did they stop the tugboat gimmick did you guys hear the pop he got? .. the fans loved his gimmick i know i did

  • They had to improvise after that innovative move.

  • back then undertaker hade my hair color

  • Tugboat could have easily outpowered The Undertaker, but Undertaker was a bigger name.

  • 3:05 is a silly botch. And the say it is an innovative move, LOL...

  • Sheamus's big brother?

  • Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred Hayes is as close a trainwreck you can get from an announcing tandem. That being said, it's still awesome seeing the 'Taker in his early days before all the tattoos, casket matches, biker gimmicks, and deaths.

  • @MmmmmPopTarts: i agree sean was way better in the event center on superstars of wrestling, or as a backstage interviewer...alfred hayes was best for special report or coliseum video exclusives...

  • You can tell at this point that Taker was still trying to figure his character out. He almost never went out off his basic moves the way he does in this match. When did Paul Berrar officially become his manager, February '91?

  • @Antrizzle2009 Indeed, he developed a very robotic way of wrestling during 1991

  • Lol @ 0:43 Dude is TOTALLY on meth/coke that shit is funny as hell...

  • @Dameon725 lol definitely i wish the guy would be on youtube and comment on it thats if he didnt o.d. by now

  • WHAT, WHAT......WHAT?

Thats Lord Alfred Haye, one of the greatest commentators in the history of wrestling.

ps. Yes he is English and was a very popular wrestler in Britain back in the day.

  • and his faithful sidekick sean moony! lol classic

  • @imperialpod i'll give him credit he and moony tried to sell that leap frog botch pretty well

  • I remember thinking Tugboat was going to win this match...had no idea the Undertaker would become the legend he is today.

  • Maybe, but lets be honest....Tugboat kicked the crap outta the Underpantser.

    Toot Toot!

  • Noooooo way Tugboat is 6'8"

  • @dodluvr2204 TUGBOAT IS 6'4''

  • @dodluvr2204 Tugboat is only 6'4'

  • @dodluvr2204 my dads 6'8'' lol

  • couple of botches, but still a enjoyable match from i believe the best era in pro wrestling :D

  • is that linda doing the intros?

  • Mike McGuirk. Yes her name is Mike.

  • I know him!I know him!

MR.MARK CALLAWAY IS THE BEST,I LOVE YOU UNDERTAKER

  • wasnt this his first match in the wwe just before survivor series, they taped and just put it on a video not televised

  • CM Punk at 0:43 mark!

  • I think he represents "DEATH" Pappa amongst the Four Horsemen Pappas of the Apocalypse!!!!

  • Undertaker is the motherf****n desciple of the motherf***n Apocalypse!

    Tughboat: Rest in Peace!

  • I thought Tugboat should be heavyer.

  • I mean: Look at him, just take a look at him!!!! Really!! But really! Seriously!! What a massive power!!

    TAKER RULEZ!!!! BRUTALLIKA RULEZ !!!!

    Hello everyone!

  • UNDERTAKER IS ONE OF THE FOUR HORSEMANN PAPPAS OF THE MOTHERFUCKIN' APOCALYPSE!!!!

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT HE'S THE DESCIPLE OF APOCALYPSE !!!

Oh, and don't forget: BRUTALLIKA RULEZZZZ !!!!, & TAKER PAPPA RULEZZZZ!!!

You know, but really seriously: He's the GREATEST of ALL TIMES in wrestling history!!!!

And this isn't only my opinion, I think everyone says..... !!

  • that idiot said big bossman lmfao

  • The botch at 3:03 is pathetic.

  • It was a most innovative move

  • This match looks a bit familer the way the video starts in the exact same place with the bell at the exact same time lol.
