I remember doing signing this song two years in a row. We tied for second *i think it was* I still can remember all the words to it. i enjoyed doing it.I went to Birchmount School.... And i think those were the only years we did it... lol but it was fun! we got money for the school and we got a a new piano! =D

This has to be one of the all-time best Canadian Christmas commercials! I wish they'd air it again. I usually mute all commercials now. But I never muted this one.

@tanakaot That's unfortunate. This particular commercial was made in my region (Nova Scotia, Canada) and is associated with many fond memories among the people who live here. Some were actually involved in the youth choir at that time and are now adults looking back on this special memory. I see at least one post from someone who was in the commercial. There are probably more I haven't read yet.

My daughter and I were in this tv ad.  It's so much fun to be able to look at it again as we now live about 13,000 miles away from NS and never see snow....she's all grown up now and I'm now an oldie....

I am 21 now and I was in that... the commerical when they remade it in 2000 and made the compulation CD. if you notice its all boys singing... its the Halifax boy hounor choir... I was a little upset cause it was never played this year at all.

I first saw this commercial in 1990... indeed a favorite of mine also. I too wish they still made C'mas commercials like this. There was another great holiday commercial also from 1990, also exclusive to the Maritimes. It was a station promo for MITV (now Global Maritimes), a great jingle, ending with "The Seasons Best from M-I-T-V". Does anyone have that?

why doesn't Sobey's bring this back? it send tingles down my spine! growning up as an 80's child this was always the holidays! not like not when the day after Rememberance Day they are putting up Christmas stuff and songs, this comerical always aired the last couple of day in November right up until the first week of January I think? thanks for the post!

Thank you for posting this Ad I miss watching it at Christmas time, it began to be part of Christmas. I was in the choir, I went to St. Agnus School in Halifax and the chubby lady was our fantastic music teacher who got us the gig. If we had only known how popular it was to become. Now I can show my kids!
