  • 40 Short & Weak

  • That thumb nail looks deadlier than both those rounds

  • @MrBeecee420 it is

  • the 10mm was introduced in the 80's as an end all semi auto law enforcement round. the 10mm was a bit to heavy in the recoil department and as a result some law enforcement departments went back to the 9mm. S&w cut down the 10mm and called it the 40s&w. the 40s&w has become popular because of the power/recoil compromise.

the 10mm is a great round, but now 10mm ammo has some availability issues.

  • The 10 is ballistically, far superior.

  • 10mm is not easily available, while 40 sw is. I've benn told 40 sw properly loaded can be the same as a standard 10mm. True?

  • @claudiobenassi85 in some cases, the fbi load can be comparable to a .40 but a hot loaded 10mm is comparable to a .41 magnum

  • @claudiobenassi85 yes.. 40 is a 10 necked down... that is it..

  • Does the 10 mm use a large pistol primer? Looks like it to me, just wonder why.

  • @paininthe10 yes it does,it causes higher pressures

  • u could go to the store and look at them

  • So which one is the bigger round? I cant tell... what would u say

  • @ToNytheKiNgYaNg they are both the same size caliber (.40). The only difference is the case length. kind of like a .38 spl and a .357 magnum, the bullets are the same caliber but the case is longer on the .357, allowing more space for powder which gives it more power...So you could essentially say the 10mm is a .40 magnum.

  • @ToNytheKiNgYaNg ya they are the same bullet weight and diameter if you look up bullets for reloading they say 10mm and .40. the 10mm was made first and the .40S&W was just a shorter version to reduce recoil and that is how the .40 got the nickname 40 Short&Weak hehe

  • @masterofnotmuch2 but you arent implying that the 40 is actually weak right?

  • @91gt306 in comparison to a heavy 10, yes it is.

  • @GrayHatLinux ok. im new to firearms but would you happen to know if there is a compact for 10mm?

  • @91gt306 Not that I know of. 10mm is a beast of a round, I don't think you're going to want to be shooting that from anything but a full size gun. You can google around for it, but I strongly recommend a full size if you're looking at that caliber.

  • @GrayHatLinux i was thinking about going with a .40 until i saw this video lol. but i wanted it in compact but if you suggest full size then i might go with that maybe for home defense and maybe .40 for concealed carry. thanks alot for the advice. take care.

  • @91gt306 Yes, Glock 29, although it is a SUBcompact. I recently started getting interested in my carry permit here in Minnesota which is legal open carry and I'm looking into a G29 as well.

  • @blown4six ok thanks. sorry im a noob lol. but is there a difference between compact and subcompact?

  • @91gt306 A little bit difference in size is the thing. Subcompact is going to be just a little smaller than a compact. The confusion stems from marketing. What Glock and Springfield call a "sub-compact," Taurus and Smith & Wesson call a compact. What CZ USA calls a compact, Walther calls a standard or mid-frame.

  • @blown4six Ok. Thanks alot or the info.Really appreciate it, makes it alot easier to decide my next firearm purchase.

  • Thank you, you won't believe how hard I had to search for a video that did a side by side!

  • @ThexFatxMarathoner No problem brother

  • ouch

  • 9mm PARA Rules!!!

  • Thats a 40 & a 10 brother.

  • @SocomElite187 Title fuck up thanks for the proof viewing ;)

  • @welderhondadrew 10-4, no problem :)
