True, but the Suzuki SV cost only the friction of the price of the Aprilia RSV 1000. Plus they are not the same bikes. The SV is a sport turing bike while the RSV 1000 is more a racing machine. So no wonder it will smoke them all. But one thing you can say about the Suzuki SV 1000 ad everyone would agree about it. You get the best from the bike for every dollar you paid for it. In other words, quality bike for good price.
@adamsv1000 yea cant beat suzuki for value for money im a big fan but the older ones had much better performance, bit sad they stopped making the TL1000R
Of course, the TL was a monster. They say it had close to 150 HP but it was a raching machie more than turing. The SV 1000 was more rider friendly, easier to ride and easier to handle than the TL. They wanted a diffrent bike and that's what they did. Sadly, not many bought it and the SV 1000 production was stopped for ever. However, the 650 sells like crazy over 10 years in a row. People rather have less bike for less money. What a pity.
@adamsv1000 yea my dad had a mint 1999 tl100r it was a beast had ohlins rear shock and i think he sold it for more then what he paid for it,best sounding bike ever.he had the numberplate THELL. pity i only had my learners back then and never got to ride it myself
I've been riding for quite some time now, and have been using a Ninja 650R for the last 2 years. I love the sound of a beefy V-Twin engine as well as the ample amounts of torque and mid-range ride-ability that twins offer, and don't really want to change to an I-4 despite all the good deals for various used I-4-based motorcycles. I'm curious if I should get an SV650, or if I can find a used SV1000 for around the same price point that I'm looking for, should I go with the 1000?
@TheReapersSon it's not an upgrade changing from a ninja 650r to an sv 650. Go with the 1000. they are affordable even with low mlge... That's an opinion from an upgrader.
I own a SV1000N. This isn't fake. The speedo lags. So while launching at full throttle the first speed to pop up is about 35 km/h.
The power in low revs is outstanding! I love my bike. I can out run my friend who rides a gsx-r 750 SRAD till 140-150 km/u than the high-end power of his bikes kicks in. But my bike is a naked.. so i don't like to go far above 150.. This is my restrictor! Otherwise i would be doing 200+km/h all time time..
@Blader999 the SV1000 speedo drive is in the front wheel and lags a lot, like when im launching my sv650 the first speed that shows up is 20mph, so its possible.
I have an SV1000s....really cool bike and I purchased it because I got a good deal on it from a guy who got shipped to afganistan......I didnt know about a v twin sport bike but its better because the bike is more narrow, great power and great handling on that bike.Nobody on a sport bike has tried me yet and I get behind inline 4 bikes all the time and pull along side, but nobody jumps on me so far......its a fun machine anyway.
the honda vtr1000 firestorm is tested at 0-100 in less than 3 seconds. It's a 1L V-twin. And the SV-1000 is lighter and has more power and torque. So this time is very plausable

sorry but that just cant be... i been riding my uncles same bike for years and i learnt to use the cluth right and everything to get the fastest eccel... but yer i think its fake??
wow... yeah, that was a typo. I meant to say kph. You're right though, Hayabusas arent really made for flat out acceleration as far as I can tell. They seem to have all their balls on top end speed. Everyone that I know that's raced one has killed them in short track, but got wasted in long track... and only in straight line (drag-style) racing. I still want a Busa though, but my better half won't let me ;) My SV1000 throws down 0-70mph in approx. 3.5 secs though! =)
doubt its downhill, I rode the VTR1000 and its similar in performance, gets low 3's. SV1000 has the old TL1000S motor, which is fairly beastly. Depends on the rider. A good rider will get an SV1000 under 3 seconds 0-100. A shit rider will get 0-100 in about 5 seconds.
i found the new SV1000s a bit tame compared to the TL1000s they replaced so i got an RSV1000 and they smoke em ;)

Nice bike. I have a 2006 SV1000S. Even in stock form it pulls pretty hard from a stand still. :)

isn't right, you can hear the engine accelerating hard until the gear is shifted so its just abit odd.

2,93 sec my ass. It's more like 5 sec.
marijn1423 1 year ago
@marijn1423 I see a test of svs and 1000 do 100km/h in 3.3 sec , sv650s in about 4.5 sec.
I owned 06 sv1000s and it is a fast bike , but rpm end at 11 000

The SV's gauge is quite a bit off. So 100 km/h is more like 95 km/h

maybe pay more attention to the description, 100 KPH, not mph.
0-100km/h within 3 seconds is totally possible.

listen to when he drops the cluch bike still shows 0 your time was more like 4 sec.
