  • I listened to this and laughed outloud--she is so delightful and adorable, and as a Jewish mother myself, I could relate to well to this--remembering listening to all the Jewish moms I knew when I was growing up. Barbara

  • I'm in love with this woman! :)

  • Xxxxxx

  • To boazn8: I would guess a Jewbu is a Jewish Buddhist.

  • Shalom

  • Grandma is adorable, I agree with what she's saying.

And there's nothinbg funny about what she said, idk why those idiots are laughing at, except for the fact that he is a fuckup.

  • @TheKnifePsycho Because she was not being serious. Obviously, you are not Jewish!

  • @TheKnifePsycho Read adisaavedra's reply and go back to basic English class.

  • I love her!

  • What a doll! I could just plotz, already. To be able to laugh at herself and also send up her son, but with such loving affection-and 91&1/2 to boot. I only wish I should be half as funny at her age, I should be so lucky. Thanks for posting this gem!

  • people that don't recognize satire astound me. she's not being serious. she's taking some of her traits and making fun of them through exaggeration. she creates a story where she's a parody of herself. i feel like this is a basic aspect of humor and i can't fathom being a human who doesn't understand humor on a basic level. it must be the most horrific hell. out of a moral obligation, i must advise those of you who think this woman is serious, to find a way to laugh at yourself ASAP.

  • Oy, Such A Deal!☺

  • For those of you who don't understand irony, humour, and have to moralise about the starving folks in....................(fill in your blank), please don't bother to watch this. The rest of you - join me in a big smile for a very bright and funny lady.

  • i wouldnt want to be that guy

  • This is a wonderful video. Highly recommended.

  • Loved it!

  • I don't understand- she's had a wonderful life but she enjoys being miserable and whiny? It's funny, but puzzling.

  • @coralarch It's called "comedy." What she says is based on real life, but exaggerated. This is how we Jews have survived for several millenia - by laughing at ourselves & our troubles, both real & imagined.

  • @Murphygrif I know it's "comedy"- but being Aussie, I cannot stand whining about petty little things. Generally, I do dig Jewish humour, as it is ironic, gallows humour, like ours. If you want REA:L survival, look at our Kooris- at least 50,000 unbroken years- a pretty formidable record.

  • I don't want to stop feeling miserable. It cheers me up!

  • oye vey! funny, true and warm

  • My mother turned out a JUBU too-:)

  • I have been in some of the poorest countries in our world. and i have lived in some of the richest. The most happy people i have seen in my life were thoes whom come from the not rich country's WHY? because GREED, Double Standard, Poisen dont make you happy. ....

  • Wonderful. This is so true! This is so amazing for her transformation. Thank you for being willing to change. May we all learn from her example. And My Life is Blessed! Thank you Selma. Many Blessings, Valarie

  • Sounds like Mexican mothers too..

  • very funny and very true

  • Ok but you havent met my mother lol

  • I love you!!!!

    Kimberly! (AMerican!)

  • Wonderful, indeed any Jewish mother any Culture

  • You have to be Jewish! This is wonderful!!!

  • What a precious woman! I want her to adopt me! ;)

  • Very cute! This woman is a great public speaker! Very real. . She has a great sense of humor. Thanks for sharing. And also I do appreciate your watching my video without falling asleep (unlike my daughter). Love, Ron

  • Not True with my mother!

  • And also.... I do see the sorrows of the older generations.... there future was the projection of a better life in there children!!! But we life in a new time now!!! I hope that in this time parents don't make there children as a selfobject to realize the perfection of there dreams! This time gives every body the chance to become what he is.... not in function of the dream of parents!

But I understand it.... seen in the context of history! But times I've changed!!!

  • I do reconize my mother in her: always complaining, seeing the coming desasters in everything, etc... Seeing her children as the future for a better live!!! But we didn't became the docter, the loyer....

In many ways I dedicate my live to reverse the circle!!! Studied psychology and landed in boudhism.... Lovely to hear this!!!

  • Love this!

  • Selma - You're incredible! But you didn't mention that you haven't been to Whistler. James is the blessed one. Love - Vicki

  • Fabulous.

  • Except Iceland.

  • I love when she says, "And this kills me...I have become a happier person." Thanks for sharing this, James!

  • I think my very Irish Catholic mother and god mother did cross training in kvetching-except that every sentence began with homage to Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Thanks for awakening our joy, James!

    Judith Hodgens

  • Yay! Now I know where James gets his sense of humor!

    She is a gorgious mom.

  • I love it. I guess I raised the perfect child, my son, the doctor. I am going to share this with all my friends. We know how blessed we are but the complaints increase the "blessings"

  • I am taking care of my 88 year old Mom and we also are practicing gratitude. It does work. Thanks for sharing this. GBH
