thanks for this. the most intriguing thing about VHS recorders was how they opened and closed the flap. No-one seriously believed these VHS machines were going to take on the way they did - I mean the head scaling away at the tape.

Brings back memories, I used to repair them for friends. Now it has been 11 years since I have used one. Kids today in America do not know what VCR means anymore, it's all Tivo and DVR.
