okay. there are cops that abuse power, and there are those who dont. you never hear about the ones who dont. i know several cops very well and respect them, but as a whole i do not trust the police force. this is for the same reason that i do not trust the human race, but make exceptions for people i know. however, if a cop tells you to move ( i dont care if its legal or not) MOVE. it may be illegal or whatever, but you need to pick your battles a LOT better.
He got exactly what he deserved. A policeman told him to move on, he refused by saying "yeah, hold on," as if the policeman had no authority and it wasn't an order and the policeman didn't really mean it. He just didn't respect the officer in any way. Then he got a wake up call.
Your intillectual rationalism scares me. He got what he deserved
How is demanding to know why you are being arrested, moved, AGAINST YOUR FREEDOM a disrespect? I guess we should just blindly follow all the commands as long as they are from someone in a uniform. He should have hung up his fucking phone though.
Obviously its not really worth getting arrested for wanting to know why the cop wants you to do something.
this guy intellectualaddict is clearly a troll account. check out his channel. its so over the top that it would make karl rove blush. i personally always enjoy the hyper-aggressive, menacing, bullying, template that all these guys follow. ignore him.
--Hi did. He was told to move, he refused, the policeman moved him. He deserved it. Why did he not deserve it?
"How is demanding to know why you are being arrested"
--Demanding to know why you're being arrested, refusing a lawful order by a civil authority, and resisting arrest are 3 different things (FYI for all you false intellectuals out there).
You are really dense to implied sarcasm. I was quoting you. So the lawful order was "Let's move" and the reason for being arrested was refusing the lawful order?
I think you are trying to compensate for something with your incredible obsession with "intellectualism" its really discerning. People who consider themselves "intellectuals" don't usually proclaim themselves that way, they prove it through actions and words. FYI
"I guess we should just blindly follow all the commands as long as they are from someone in a uniform"
--Yup. I bet if a Fireman suddenly told him to move he would have jumped immediately. But he believed he's too important to follow a direct order from a policeman.
"Obviously its not really worth getting arrested for wanting to know why the cop wants you to do something."
--True. And it pays to be courteous to a policeman (and everyone else, for that matter).
I'm not talking about those in uniform who CAN'T abuse their authority! Why the hell is that relevant?
Were you there? if you were there you'd know that the police were telling everyone to move all over the place and that those with PRESS badges should be able to observe the demonstrations and the process of our democracy to report it to the rest of us. And yes being nice goes a long way with a cop but when I'm told to leave (when theres no fire) reasonability over brute force is justice.
--1 Yes they can. 2 You just never thought about others in uniform when you wrote that. 3 It's very relevant bc when they are a civil authority & when they give you an order to move or help or answer a question it's a lawful order, dimwit.
"the police were telling everyone to move all over the place"
--Making his refusal all the more arrogant. If everyone was told to move, and I assume they did, why didn't he?
Paramedics, Firemen etc. No relevance because they do not arrest, or hold the same responsibilities as cops. Just because they are civil authorities doesn't mean they can be appropriated under the same jurisdiction. Furthermore, a fireman is much less likely to abuse their authority than a cop. That is why i found this point - irrelevant. You're assumptions are bullshit. Police just need to maintain disorder to justify their ever increasing presence. Polis is greek for what? who owns the police?
--I never said they have the same responsibilities, but they can give you an order & if you don't follow it they can ask a cop to arrest you and the cop will do it.
"a fireman is much less likely to abuse their authority"
--This point is irrelevant. It has no bearing on the subject.
"Police just need to maintain disorder to justify their ever increasing presence"
--You think they want to be there? I think they'd rather be at home with their kids, asshole.
Ok i'm done after this because this is incredibly vain waste of time.
"You think they want to be there?" come on. -Some would have liked to be at the RATM concert down the street, others would like to be doing what they get paid to do - make quotas, be a cop to bash peoples heads in. This argument is not about the protest anymore, now it is about police authority which I refuse to argue with an authoritarian like yourself about. Have fun with your police state, asshole. I'm done here
You're seriously calling me an idiot? nothing is more Intellectual than those who recklessly insult others, especially those with differing opinions. You just make yourself come off as a jackass - like those McCarthy wannabes who just deem any dissident as a Commie, Anarchist or terrorist. It's sad really, how someone who claims to be "intellectual" can be so naive to the methods of debate. Feeble attacks on my esteem are childish. Good luck having a successful debate in REAL life.

Its pretty simple, when a police officer asks you to move you should move or chances are you will get "the big don't argue".

Most troll accounts, from my understanding, are BARE, and always brand new. How does mine compare with those?

Do you even know what "democratic" means? It refers to voting and representation, not your ability to refuse to adhere to a policeman's order.
