learned this stuff in High School, Lotsa bombast. Some good stuff. He wrote a repeating organ piece that was exquisite. His Carnival is universally disliked.
I don't quite have it up to speed yet, but I have been enjoying singing along to the bass line. The first variation is written almost perfectly - although it gives me plenty of room for experimentation. I'll have to keep working with this.
Can't wait to get this under my fingers.. absolutely amazing. Schumann's music reflects such a depth of chaotic beauty as can only be depicted by one who has borne madness, as he most certainly did. Madness and genius are independent variables, but when together married in one being and merged harmoniously to one another they produce the highest art that has ever touched us on Earth.
