  • the truth value of his claim is as he said.

    it makes him happy.

  • Getting people like this to see reason and logic is like flogging a dead horse.

  • @Ecselsiour Poking at the cesspool of humanity again are we, oh sorry Religious folk :P

  • "It's making me sad that you're irrational, you're harming me." LOL, that was hilarious!

  • You don't need to believe in an invisible man in the sky and take a mythological text as the direct word of a creator in order to be "happy" (or any other state of mind). The caller makes no logical arguments and simply "wants" to believe something because it makes him feel good. If everyone felt this way, there would be no scientific theory, or any of the scientific advances which make our lives so much better. "I like to believe that cottage cheese can cure cancer." Doesn't make it so.

  • Looks like this dude is not comfortable with the idea of letting go...once he does, he will see rays of light :) i.e. light of reason.

  • Belief for the sake of comfort, regardless of evidence or the ability to confirm, is CHILDISH and selfish.

  • I'm 100% certain that unicorns exist, I've never seen one nor do I know of anyone who has. Their skeletons are not in any natural history museum and they are not in any biology text book or book on evolution but they 100% DO exist because I believe that they do.

  • e trist sa vezi ce lupta grea se duce in mintea unui credincios pentru a justifica aceasta credinta absurda. se agata cu disperare de orice seamana cu un argument logic parca ingrozit ca ar putea sa cada in prapastia ...ateismilui.

  • @aman57 Amin :).

  • @aman57 but he should "sa cada in prapastia", cuz otherwise he is going to live in his world of bullshit believes.

Falling into the atheist abyss is such a happiness!

  • before you die your body produces DMT which is what causes you to dream so scientists think that people can experience heaven, hell or nothing right before you die. It all depends on your brain and what you truly believe, therefore religion is fake and when you die you dream of heaven. Are dreams ever real?

  • omg... listening to a theist is SOOO draining.. they have no evidence, no argument in facts, and they speak in circles just to try and prove their beliefs. a perfectly normal, intelligent person is instantly changed into a babbling psychopath once they begin talking religion..

  • Not that I have cable or anything, but does anyone know if these guys are available on TV outside of texas?

  • @joegt123

    live on ustream.

  • @joegt123 Yes and no. Not on TV, I think, but they broadcast the show on ustream. Since youtube doesn't let you post links, google the atheist experience, their website has a link to the ustream.

    Every sunday 4:30-5:30, CST

  • Jonathan was one of the best theistic callers they've ever had. I think the vast majority of Christians believe the way he does. They know God can't be proven or disproven. Believing makes them happy, and it doesn't hurt anybody.

  • @tron81

I agree it was a great caller, but for different reasons.

The point Matt was making was (and he agreed) that it was not without hurting someone.

The point is not that he 'knows' it is that he and other Christians ASSERT that and it generally goes unchallenged.

They believe and assert those 2 things are true, but do nothing to justify those.
