I was there in 1987 and experienced a 5.3 earthquake LOL It was the loveliest place i've ever been. Watching this brought it all back.

Kef is very nice and very laid back. The view of Myrtos beach is from a very scary mountain road near to Assos. Roads are quiet though bumpy, windy & high up! some barriers, sometimes not - see the shrines at side of roads.

Hi, Actually, for me, every part of Kefalonia is scenic. All around the island there are roads high up where you have the mountain on one side and a breathtaking, plunging view of the turquoise sea on the other. Once in a while you will smell the fresh scent of thyme while you drive on the roads - this herb grows all over the place. Time seems to move in slow motion on Kefalonia. The best time to go is May, June, September and October. Have a great trip!

It is an island of exceptional beauty with great beaches and blue clean waters. You should visit Melissani Lake with its stalactides hanging from the roof of its caves. Fiscardo village is an impressive village with colourfull houses and a marvellous beach!

from I was 4 years old till I was 11, I went to a greek island every summer with my parents. kefalonia had some great beaches as far as I remember. one of the most beautiful islands, and not too big to cover the distances on a scooter. This brings back childhood memories.

Kefalonia is so gorgeous

I went there from the 29th of July 2008

We had an earthqauke.

The sea planes went over about 10 times a day to put out fires backwards of forwards!

The sunsets amazing there!

I had the best holiday ever in my life there! I stayed in Sami at the Sami Beach Hotel, they are the loveliest people I have ever met in my life and the island was absolutely beautiful!! There isnt anywhere I'd rather be than there!

The sea plane is collecting water to put out a fire. Very common problem as you probably have seen last year. Some fire are accidental (hot car engines parked over dry grass!). However, most are set by people with no moral values!
